INTERVIEW: Jeepney

A brand rooted in Filipino culture, Jeepney was founded in Seattle in 2003. The brand’s name, Jeepney straight from the Philippines, is also the most popular means of public transportation in the country. Revamped US military jeeps left over from World War II, today Jeepney’s are known for their flamboyant decoration and crowded seating and have become a symbol of Philippine culture. Karlo Reyes founder and creative director brings Jeepney to the world of streetwear.

The word on the street is that T-Mobile USA will finally have the BlackBerry 8900 Curve in store on February 18th, and that would not be one minute too early (actually, we would prefer tomorrow AM…). whether you have missed it, the Blackberry 8900 packs a lot of the goodness from its sibling, the BlackBerry Bold, expect that it has a slower CPU and no 3G access. The good news is that it will be lighter.

Heads Up: DIY MUTT by Tyler

Spied on the Kidrobot Message Boards artist and customizer Tyler has created a new and affordable  Do-It-Yourself platform for all you artists out there. A clever little creation made out of PVC named Mutt.

The idea behind MUTT was to create a D.I.Y. that you could not only custom, but could custom build before you even get the toy to achieve more of what want. MUTT, appropriately named, is just that. you can mix and match any accessories giving you more options in the D.I.Y. side of things than were available before. the “shell” itself is an ambiguous shape that lends its self to go any direction you would want to take it.

NEWS: Daves Quality Meat x Sag “Air Force One” backpack

This backpack is a collaborative effort between New York streetwear boutique Dave’s Quality Meat and Tokyo-based bag makers SAG, and comes in as a surprise release as little information has been leaked beforehand.  Choosing to work on the Air Force 1 model, the bag was given a revamp with patent leather treatment and 3M reflective details.
