Dunny gets a makeover in our latest series, featuring designs from 18 prominent and talented female artists.

Some are cute and sweet, while others are bold and in your face.

Each blind boxed 3-inch figure comes with a trading card and some include accessories.

Artists in this innovative series include Alex Anderson, Catalina Estrada, KLOR, CW, Aiko, Kathie Olivas, Wendi Koontz, Koralie, Baroness, Anna Chambers, Amanda Visell, Amy Ruppel, Julie West, Toofly, Junko Mizuno, Aya Kakeda, Tara McPherson, and Sara Varon.

Vasily the Grumpiest Walrus Plush 16-Inch

As Commander of a Russian nuclear attack sub, Vasily is busy dodging icebergs, whales, and underwater volcanoes, thus leaving no time for pleasures in life like naps, tasty clams or making fun of seals.

As expected, this has made him extremely grumpy.

Vasily is one of the first in a line of cantankerous plush characters, Grumpsters, created by Frank Kozik.

This 16-inch grouch has embroidered features, including a Russian winter hat adorned with a red star.

It’s Time to ROCK peoples!

We’re proud and honored to be opening the doors of our new location on January 16th, 2010! We have been working our booties off to get the new space up and running just for you… so come on by and see what we’ve been up to, and stay for an amazing art event; the first of many great shows for 2010!

Rock The Future! is an annual fundraiser for local Chicago-based music education nonprofits. Rock For Kids, offers free music education to underprivileged homeless youth and provides support and assistance to children and their families. Rock for Kids is the beneficiary for the 2010 Rock The Future event.

Kanye West helped Bape’s Spring/Summer 2010 lookbook reach every blog from Hypebeast to People Magazine, and now the brand is starting to showcase some of its footwear for the upcoming seasons. We don’t have proper names on this Air Force 1 mid take-off, but it seems that Nigo’s keeping them in line with the whole “Puzzle Camo” motif that Bape’s been doing on it’s cut and sew pieces recently. Look for these to drop in the next few weeks on the Bape website, as well as at its flagship locations. Keep reading for some more pics of the new sneakers…

Kidrobot Black – Gary Baseman’s Midnight Magi (1.12)

Kidrobot has just unveiled a great start for 2010 with their new Kidrobot Black line.  In a nutshell, the company is going to release super-limited figures in one colorway that honor the tradition of vinyl toys that we all love.  This is about original shapes and the amazing feel of vinyl and less about intricate paint/deco.

First up, is Gary Baseman’s incredible Midnight Magi (8”, shown here as a silhouette).  Limited to 200 pieces,It will drop on Tuesday at noon EST,  exclusively from black.kidrobot.com for $100. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.  No follow-on colorways.

As the market for vinyl toys continues to grow, its a challenge to support that grow with toys with broader appeal and still stay true to the roots of this scene.  In my opinion, Kidrobot Black is a cool project which moves things in a very positive direction.

What started as a custom for the Stitch Experiment 626 tour is soon slated to be the first production 10” Stitch art toy from MINDstyle.  Featuring an all-new sculpt,  MINDstyle x Disney’s Tiki Stitch recreates the mastery of Eric Tan’s custom.  Due in this first quarter, the Tiki Stitch stands 10” tall, is limited to 300 pcs, and will retail for $89.99.  It is one of MINDstyle’s first ATC (Art Toy Collectible) figures to be distributed by Sideshow Collectibles under the newly announced strategic alliance.   Available for preorder now.

Recently unveiled at the electronics tradeshow CES was the following partnership involving sportswear giants adidas and audio brand Sennheiser. The coming together of the two brands represents an interesting foray into the realm of athletics-based headphones. The four-model collection features headphones that each embody quality and construction created in a way to hold up to the rigors of training and sport. The use of Kevlar is paired with water resistant features to repel both sweat and rain. Available starting later this month at select Sennheiser and adidas Performance locations.

Nike SB drops the following model of the Bruin for this month. The basic profile and construction of the Bruin has often resulted in largely monotone offerings with no changes seen here. The upper features a green upper with white Swoosh and a simple logo on the heel. Available now at Kasina.

Nike Blazer Hi SB “Gold Leaf”

Finally we get a detailed look at the new Nike Blazer Hi SB “Gold Leaf”. Being one of the most popular styles in the Nike SB collection, the Blazer gets treated with a golden yellow suede upper with royal blue Swoosh, heel and lining, resulting in a very solid overall look. We also see a matching toy by Michael Lau in the background. The Blazer will be released with two colors of laces at Kasina.
