Ibn Jasper comes through with his second Diamond Supply Co. collaboration in as many months with the new duo pictured above. These new Ibn Jasper x Diamond Jaspers are on paper quite simple: black or grey uppers with white soles. But it’s the little details that set these apart, which starts with this model’s distinctive kiltie (that frilly piece at the junction of toe and tongue). The uppers are made of a woven textile which adds some tonal depth and shadows to these pairs finished with the iconic Tiffany blue. Check out both in detail after the jump and be ready when these hit this Saturday, December 7th at retailers like Feature. Source: Feature
Despite the wet, foggy conditions in Portland, Oregon, the city seems to produce some of the best talent in skateboarding today. Silas Baxter-Neal is living evidence of this, with the 30 year-old Habitat professional already having a prolific career that includes a "Skater of the Year" award, a full Transworld video part, and two pro models on adidas' Skateboarding squadron. Despite busily traveling for the forthcoming Habitat video, Baxter-Neal took a day to show RIDE Channel around the 'City of Roses' for its stellar "SKATE" series. The skater takes us through some familiar ledge, rail, and gap spots throughout the city, giving tidbits of history at each locale. Notably, skate enthusiasts will surely appreciate a stylish cameo from fellow Portlander Brent Atchley. Enjoy the video above, and head over to RIDE Channel for other city explorations.

Talib Kweli heads to Brazil for the visuals to "Favela Love." Director Jean Grae does an excellent job on the treatment for this one, so we suggest waiting until the subtitles kick in around the five minute mark to truly appreciate the storyline. Costarring in the music video is Brazilian singer Seu Jorge, who is also featured on Terrace Martin-produced track. Hear this one and more by streaming Kweli's latest album, Prisoner of Consciousness, here.
Moving away from his rants of late, Kanye West took a second out of his busy schedule to speak on his forthcoming ventures. At Miami's Art Basel, the rapper sat down with architect Jaques Hezog to further delve into his background in art and design. The rapper goes on to explain how the minimalist approach to Yeezus will also play an intrinsic role in his upcoming project, noting that the album will consist of eight songs. Read an insert below and head to Rolling Stone for the full article.
"My original creative background was fine art. By the time I was 14, I was in national competitions for art, and I actually went to school for art. Sometimes I actually forget that. Except for when I tour and I look back at the stage and say, 'Wait a second, I forgot this was the whole trick I pulled on everyone to make them think I was a rapper, a musician or celebrity when the entire time it's all been a giant art project.
I thought my opinion wasn't strong enough with what I was painting. When I would see my own work, I never thought I would visually be able to become one of the masters — I thought I had a stronger opinion when I worked on music. I got a stronger response."
Whereas last year’s Greater China Press/Media Event was at a nondescript bar lounge in Shanghai, CONVERSE planned a gala-style venue this time around for its Spring/Summer 2014 Collection Preview. Situated within Beijing’s Inter Art Center/Gallery, the invitation-only event marked the debut of key 2014 products from CONVERSE, for both worldwide and China Domestic Market. Arranged so all of its popular styles get much of the attention, CONVERSE also offered DIY booth for visitors to construct their own CONVERSE. In addition to the usual cadre of media personalities, members of China’s indie punk band ReTros swung by to experience the presentation in person. Meanwhile, Denise Ho, the Hong Kong pop songstress, dropped in for a visit and see the newest offerings from one of her favorite brands.
