stakes is high… or steaks n’ pie?

Just fuckin around with some imagery from my favorite era in hip hop, the golden age of the 90s. “Stakes is high” is a visually iconic and classic album by de la soul with dope tracks like “Stakes is high”, “The Bizness” and of course “Itzsoweezee.” That album is some good, good stuff. I would hope you know this album, but if not please get learnt.
But anyway, for some reason the opening scene from the “Itzsoweezee” video ,with the dude getting messed with for his lunch, always stuck in my head…
Thus the creation of this graphic. And I like food, so myeah. Probably gonna make it for myself and not a wide release but I thought it was fun to make anyway.

Wild Child? Chaotic Museum Art Created by Kids

It’s a parent’s nightmare: a stark, modern living space so clean it practically sparkles that, after the intervention of 1,000 children, ends up looks like the world’s largest finger painting. This awesome installation by artist Yayoi Kusama at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia let kids go wild with stickers over a period of two weeks, resulting in brightly colored chaos.

Kusama painted every surface in the room white, down to the smallest accessories, until the room was so bright it was practically blinding. The room was then offered up to kids as a massive canvas for tens of thousands of round colored stickers.

Entitled ‘The Obliteration Room‘, the project will be up as part of Kusama’s exhibit Look Now, See Forever until March 12th. See more jaw-dropping art installations like this at This Is Colossal.

We’ve got some official Jordan Brand images for you to take a peek at below so take a look and be aware that the release date for these will be on Friday, February 24th!

Gorillaz x CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star Hi & Ox – Spring 2012

The first major collaboration of the year, CONVERSE finally unveiled its new project with Gorillaz, the famous virtual band. The collection consists of four distinct CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star in High and Oxford forms. Each covered with unique graphics solely for this project by Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz co-creator. In reference to the cover art on Gorillaz‘s self-titled album, one design features a fragmented camouflage in all-over print fashion. Militarism styling is found on another design, this time with Hewlett’s Pazuzu caricature on an all-black backdrop. Hewlett also created a special lining, a collage of Gorillaz’ albums artworks, for both. In addition, two other designs, in black with High Cut style and white in Oxford form, both featuring sketches of band members Stuart “2D” Pot, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs at play. Thus, completing the Spring 2012 Collection on a high note.
All four designs will be available through select CONVERSE retailers and CONVERSE online store on Thursday, February 23rd.
Release Date: February 23rd, 2012 (Thursday)
