Nike Manor PRM

Nike Manor PRM

In a trend that would probably be a bit troublesome to its early innovators, is becoming more and more comfortable with launching silhouettes that have no home in any particular sport. Sure, models like the Dunk have long been removed from their original context, but even that lifestyle juggernaut began as a basketball shoe. The all new Nike Manor is quite different, its casual DNA exemplified by the swooshless silhouette and NSW branding on the tongue. Right out of the gate the Manor is up for grabs in two premium releases, with the mint green and khaki colorways both available now. Check out the detailed images of both after the jump and grab the Nike Manor PRM from HANON SHOP now.

2DBZ Presents Pyrex Vision: The System (Or, Why Rap To Me Really Isn’t Rap To Me Anymore)

Before I left the comfortably warm breeze of California for the bipolar weather system of New York almost three years ago, I expected what almost every other transplant anticipated once they exited that plane, vehicle, boat or other modes of transportation and stepped into a foreign land: a land of opportunity, a place to start fresh and a realm where your dreams will be a reality.

For a minute, however, I thought I had made the worst decision ever in life. And believe me, I’ve made awful decisions: it’s still a hassle to get my driver’s license to this day because of some dumb stick-up kid shit I did when I was 17.

Roughly three weeks after I moved, I was on the horn with one of my closest friends looking for reasons not to move back to Los Angeles. Coming from a place where the pace of the people rivaled the traffic on the 405 Freeway at 4:05pm, it was a bit of a rude awakening when I realized that the beloved city I dreamt of having a teenage love affair with was more The Wire than The Wizard Of Oz, glammed up by the Internets and its magical ability to portray everything as something it really is not.

It took a while to get adjusted over here, understandably. But with a little bit of persistence – and a whole heap of alcohol and weed – I eventually reached some sort of middle ground where while I am not necessarily in love with New York, I can’t really find a reason to live anywhere else. When things teeter toward the negative, though, I almost always reach for that bottle of Jack in my kitchen resort to the thing that has, for better or worse, kept me sane: music.

In that sense, I can see why there are so many aspiring artists out there. Sure, I know there are some that should not be within walking distance of any microphone at all, and of course with the power of technology it’s even easier to go from “most known unknown” to “the next big thing.” However, I know that there are many folks like you (the reader) that love the melody as much as they will love their first-born. While your musical ideas may not cross paths with my train of thought, that should never be considered a deterrence or an obstacle because at the end of the day I’m just some random-ass dude with a website that most of y’all haven’t met or even seen in person; what the fuck can I do for your life? Shake, Peas, Justice or myself may not always have the time to listen to virtually every single musician out there (which seems to increase by the day), but we will always invite those who sincerely feel that their path to greatness is through music to keep striving because at the very least it’ll keep you sane in this mad world.

Well, maybe not Shake. But we all know he hates everything under the sun.

Air Jordan X – University Blue – White | Sample

Air Jordan X University Blue White | Sample

With the trending so heavily these days, it’s only fitting that this sick sample surfaces today. Tomorrow will be the release of the Old Royal , but our focus right now is on another pair of blue/white – namely this University Blue and White sample. Many will quickly re-direct their attention to the Air Jordan Pantone 284 Collection that made headlines in 2010 when the Air Jordan celebrated its silver anniversary, but this sample is actually dated for Spring 2008, a year in which the Air Jordan celebrated a more significant milestone – the 23rd Anniversary. So could the Pantone Collection have been created in 2008, only to surface two years later? In any case, this sample is indeed different from that set as it does not feature the signature laser graphic on the upper. We’ve got a full set of images of the Air Jordan X Sample below so check out the detailed gallery and peep the auction from brokeonjordans on eBay.

Karmaloop + New Brahmin Present: BEAUTY SCHOOL!

Click here to view the embedded video.

Karmaloop is back in the beauty game with our friends over at New Brahmin and we are thrilled to show you this tutorial series! Watch our inaugural clip with makeup artist Rose Fortuna showing you how to prep a smooch-able lip for upcoming Valentine’s Day.

Rosie is one fiery chick on a life mission to make pretty, but she can’t fix ugly — that’s an inside job. Wishing you all a super sweet V-day (but not so sweet that your teeth fall out from overeating candy), she hopes that these two sultry lip options suit your pucker on this most romantic night.

For her natural, pouty nude technique, you need:

  • neutral lip liner, about 2 shades deeper than your natural lip tone
  • nude gloss

Simply line your lip then fill it in with the same liner — this will act as a primer for the next step… which is shellacking on a layer of nude gloss! Only marginally more time consuming than swiping on chapstick but adds a whole lot of oomph.

For a punchy jolt of color, the bold red lip involves:

  • an angle brush to line and fill
  • a bright lipcolor (your choice)
  • a semi-sheer lipgloss
  • flat brush and concealer
  • optional: a shade lighter or brighter than the lipcolor you’re using (we played around with silver)

Use the angle brush to line and fill your lip with color; we like this process because it is precise. Start from the corner of your lip, as starting in the middle can give you an exaggerated clown-lip effect (scary).

Build color to your liking and add semi-sheer gloss to finish. To ensure your work stays put, buff around the negative lip line with concealer and a flat brush. Not sure what that means? Just study Rose in the clip!

Finally, if you want to amp up the look further tap the 2nd shade at the center of your lip for dimension.

Voila! Your lips will be so scrumptious that a makeout seash is guaranteed, at which point you will probably ruin your makeup. But hey! We aren’t miracle workers over here! At least we got you there, or so we’d like to think. ♥
