adidas Brooklyn Nets Shop to Open in Coney Island

The classic black and white design of the Brooklyn Nets uniform has translated into banner sales for the team’s apparel and accessories, and the organization is taking advantage of the summer crowds at Coney Island by opening a Nets shop inside the landmark Brooklyn attraction. The Nets Shop by adidas, located on Stillwell Ave. between Surf Ave. and the Boardwalk, will have its grand opening on Thursday, May 23rd, at 10 a.m. Customers can expect to find tees, hats and player jerseys, as well as beach accessories ranging from flip flops to swimswear. Following its May 23rd launch, the Nets Shop by adidas will remain open through the month of October.

Nike Sportswear Made In Italy Overdyed Run Bomber Jacket

Like the Nike Sportswear Pinnacle Collection, the seemingly simple designs found on its Made In Italy line are rather deceiving. Through the collection’s production process, much of the attention were on the procurement of fabric from the finest mills in Italy, to the same seamstress and tailors employed by fashion houses synonymous with luxury. The results were conundrums like this Overdyed Run Bomber Jacket, where plain appearances gave way to bespoke craftsmanship upon detailed inspection. Suitable as a lightweight running jacket, it features an over-dyed nylon shell that is relatively light in weight. As insulation against the cool air, a layer of 100% cotton French terry cloth lined the inside. Limited in production and exclusive in availability, the Overdyed Run Bomber Jacket from Nike Sportswear‘s Made In Italy Collection is now available through NikeStore.com and retailers like sneakersNstuff in Sweden.

Levi’s Vintage Clothing – Fall/Winter 2013 Collection Lookbook

Levi’s Vintage Clothing has unveiled the lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2013 collection, featuring looks that hark back to early ’60s Detroit and the dawn of of Motown. Outerwear is highlighted by a fringed suede jacket and weathered leather coat with fur-trimmed collar, layered over checkerboard shirts and wool polos. Jeans come in thoroughly distressed washes, while khakis and retro plum cords are cut in the trim-fitting silhouettes of that era. The soulful Motown looks eventually give way to a distinct Flower Power sensibility, centered around the return of the Levi’s Orange Tab. The denim from the range is stone-washed and flared, worn with ringer tees and washed crewnecks to evoke a simpler time, when basements were faux wood paneled and music was played on eight-tracks. Finally, the 21brand’s core repro segment features aged leather outerwear and the expected selection of Cone Mills-produced 501s.

BWGH – Paris Pop-Up Store Opens

BWGH Paris Pop Up Store Opens BWGH announced the opening of their first pop-up store in Paris. Although, this store will only be open for four and a half months initially; however, its success may trigger plans for more permanent venue for the label. The new space is located inside Les docks Cité de la Mode et du Design, surrounded by other designers and retailers. Interior fit out is simple and minimalist, yet it still captures the charm of the Parisian label, paying attention to small details. It’s blue and white color scheme pays tribute to Yves Klein, one of the inspirational artists of the BWGH designers. Drop by the space before September this year to browse through their pop-up shop.

K1X The Franchise Series

Based out of Munich, Germany, K1X introduces the Franchise Series, featuring a trio of snapback caps and all-over printed tank tops that pay tribute to three basketball hotspots: Miami, Brooklyn and New York. The Miami series features a colorful floral print as a nod to South Beach, complete with a message from No. 6: “Hi Haters!” The Brooklyn combo is finished in black and white, featuring a vintage Brooklyn street map that covers the tank top and the under-brim of the cap. Finally, the New York tank top is adorned with an old-school boombox graphic, a nod to NYC as the mecca of both basketball and hip hop, while the cap announces a defiant New York shout-out. Stussy Wildlife Collection Just as we saw Gourmet utilize various animal prints in their Spring/Summer 2013 Women’s Footwear Collection, Stussy also looked at animals for inspiration for this Wildlife Collection. Created for the urban jungle, the iconic Stussy graphics – Stussy No. 4, SS Link, and Stussy Logo – are revamped using the custom designed Wildlife artwork. The Wildlife Shirt is the only piece that features the original illustration in its entirety, a reinterpretation of the wilderness and animals in an abstract drawing. This shirt will be available later this month, but the rest of the items are currently in stock at select Stussy outlets and Stussy Japan online store.
