Remember back in 2011 when let go a few snapshots from an upcoming Asics collaboration? Gel heads have been eagerly awaiting for word on their release since then, and while they aren’t ready to drop any info just yet, we do have another sneak peek from the Solebox team. A top down view of the black Asics Gel Lyte III first shown here, this new photo reveals an interesting detail unbeknownst to readers before in the form of the loud orange laces. Derrick Rose wasn’t the only Rose grabbing attention this past week. Today we get a teaser photo of Ronnie Fieg X Asics “Rose Gold”. Some samples of the Salmon/Baby Blue have already surfaced, which should give us a preview of the “Rose Gold”. Ronnie Fieg’s Asics have gained more and more attention with each ones release. This will certainly grab the attention of many, and most likely will be another successful shoe. Stay tuned with us for more updates on the “Rose Gold”  when they become available.

ASICS Gel Lyte III Yin Yang Pack

ASICS Gel Lyte III Yin Yang Pack

The concept of Yin Yang is widely recognized by the Taijitu symbol, a circle divided evenly in black and white. Yin Yang refers to the balance in nature, the polar opposite elements such as light/dark, day/night, male/female, hot/cold and so forth. ASICS are launching their Yin Yang Pack made up of their classic Gel Lyte III sneakers. There are two pairs in the pack made exactly the same way, except the colors have been reversed. Both sneakers are made from premium leather and Codura nylon uppers for quality finish and durability. HANON is taking pre-order of these shoes right now with the delivery scheduled for sometime in February.

Three strong colorways of the shoe have released for Spring 2012, including Red/Blue/White, Lime/Black/Infared and White/Royal/Purple, all available at KITH now and going for reasonable 80 USD.

ASICS‘ North American presence has been growing little by little, and as you certainly know by now one of the guys at the forefront of that movement is Ronnie Fieg. As a longtime collaborator, his retail space is also a resource for killer in-line releases from the running brand. Case in point is this limited batch of winter releases that just popped up, a set of sneakers that wouldn’t typically be in any doors here in the US. Included in the group are three colorful combos of the ubiquitous Gel Lyte III at $80 and a clean black and grey version of the GT-II for $65. 2012 is barely a month old and it’s already shaping up to be a great year for Asics. Between the colorful in-house designs and promises of more Ronnie Fieg goodness though, the lineup has been a little short on more understated looks. Fortunately, the impeccably clean ‘Yin & Yang’ pairs first previewed here have finally popped up. Sticking strictly to black and white, they mirror each other in the distribution of those two tones, hence the nickname. Going with the Yin & Yang theme, does that mean that you can’t have one without the other? The Asics Gel Lyte 3 remains to be the most popular style in the retro lifestyle collection of the brand. For Spring/Summer 2012, the Yin Yang concept out of the Asian philosophy was an inspiration to Asics and behind their upcoming pack of the Gel Lyte 3.

Keeping it simple in terms of design, the sneakers come with black and white leather and mesh uppers. A release is scheduled for February 2012 at better sneaker retailers, including Hanon.

The Asics Gel Lyte III returns in 2012 with one of the freshest colorways that was previewed back in November. The Asics Gel Lyte III “Infra-Cement” features a combination of infrared like colors on the upper, followed by a speckled midsole. Both combinations are featured on the Gel Lyte III which is available now at crooked tongues.

Asics Gel Lyte III + Gel Lyte Speed Spring 2012

After Patta’s Gel Saga touched down right before the end of the year, the Asics preview earning the most attention was another release from that recently revived model that borrowed from another golden era running legend.  And it turns out the Onitsuka Tiger wasn’t done utilizing the early-’90s time capsule ‘Infrared’ look there, as a new Asics Gel Lyte III has popped up with a darker take on the bright red-accented style.  They’re joined by a new Gel Lytespeed design that’s based on primary colors, but with the red leaning toward orange and more of a navy blue than classic royal.  They’re sufficiently different so as to appeal to every taste, and they just dropped today at Crooked Tongues.
