Supreme x THE NORTH FACE Spring/Summer 2012 Capsule Collection

Today we get a first look at the new Supreme x The North Face Spring/Summer 2012 Capsule Collection. The two are certainly not new to each other, having worked on numerous collaborations already before.

For the new season Supreme decided to go with an all over world map print in two colorways. Lightweight jackets, backpacks and 2-way duffle with pull out handle are presented in the two colors. Last season they worked with animal prints for the collaboration, which was certainly a more commercial choice. This new collection should be coming to stores soon, let’s see how it will do. After all it is Supreme.

Keeping in line with their aesthetic of monochromatic layers and textures, SILENT by Damir Doma releases the Bynke Backpack in gray under their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Inspired by the traditional designs, this backpack is made from a thick textured canvas with a sturdy black leather base. Chunky metal zippers mark a twist in the traditional design. J.W. Anderson releases a highlight from their Spring/Summer 2012 runway show with this backpack done in collaboration with Porter. These are probably some of the coolest backpacks we have seen for this season thus far. These unique pieces boast some incredible details such as mixture of woven straw-like fibers and premium leather, the vertical zipper and the embellishments found on the backpack straps. Three colors of these backpacks are now available at oki-ni.

And should it rain, Andwander developed this lightweight 30L Backpack for its Spring/Summer 2012 collection with an added degree of waterproof capabilities. Constructed of a DWR-coated, high-density OX nylon, the pack also includes a stowable rain cover for the heavier deluges. Otherwise, standard pack features abound via ample stash and storage pockets, a pouch lid, and a unique asymmetrical main compartment zipper. Japanese menswear fashion label Man of Moods joins master-piece to curate a special edition “Ripe Backpack” for Spring/Summer 2012. One of the most well known Japanese bag makers, the collaboration takes place using a trail-ready pack from master-piece that is mocked up in a muted navy blue leather construction. Designed based on similar specs as heritage mountain packs, the Ripe Backpack also features a heavy duty waist harness and metal strap hardware. The pack rounded out with a large buckle main compartment flap. Understated branding is seen across the customary corner while subtle military inspiration sees its way to the compartment flap in white. Priced at ¥31,500 JPY (approximately $378 USD), availability is now offered through MEN’S NON-NO.
