Stussy x MEDICOM TOY World Tour 2 BE@RBRICK | Available Now

This past December Medicom Toy launched the World Wide Tour 2 in Tokyo, in which a total of 73 different 1000% BE@RBRICKs, each customized by a different artist or brand, were put on display. The exhibit included a design inspired by a vintage Shawn Stussy surfboard from the 1980s. Cast in a bright yellow hue, the figure was adorned with a stylized underwater motif, featuring colored bubbles and fishes formed with zigzag lines. Stussy is celebrating the BE@ARBRICK World Wide Tour with the release of a 100% and 400% Stussy BE@RBRICK, both of which can be purchased now through Stussy’s webstore.

MEDICOM TOY x Nike Air Force 1 Premium BE@RBRICK Edition

In light of BE@RBRICK World Wide Tour 2, an exhibition of all-thing related to the popular mini bear-shape figurine, its maker MEDICOM TOY announced a special Edition of Nike Air Force 1 Premium. In conjunction with Nike Sportswear, the classic sneaker silhouette is now donned with a lush coat of faux fur in either black or deep brown, as if as a symbolic nod to black bears and grizzly. Highly limited, the x Air Force 1 Premium – BE@RBRICK Edition will be available, along with other BE@RBRICK collectables, at BE@RBRICK World Wide Tour 2 in PARCO Department Store Complex for retail price of ￥15,750 (~ $200 US).

POPAGANDA IN JAPAN By Ron English

Popaganda mastermind, Ron English is going big this July for his first art exhibition in Japan, POPAGANDA IN JAPAN. To commemorate this monumental exhibition, Ron has released a special edition GRIN & BEAR IT Be@rbrick with Zac Pac. Amongst the paintings, sculptures and Popaganda products will be some special collaborative works with international artists Touma, Jason Freeny and Kim Songhe. Alice in Wonderland x Medicom Toy Cheshire Cat Bearbrick 400%

With the release of Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland set to release next month, Medicom Toy teams up with the film to produce a Cheshire Cat, reflective of the character version from the new motion picture. The cat, produced in Bearbrick form, is seen in a 400% format and is just a small dose of the complete collaboration with Alice in Wonderland. A release is slated for February 13th through Medicom Toy accounts.

Despite the numerous renditions of the Medicom Toy Bearbrick figure that have released over the years, off the top of our heads few have been marked by the sheer simplicity of this BLACK COMME des GARCONS-designed version. The special BLACK CdG project that took over the previous space held by the COMME des GARCONS x Louis Vuitton store in Aoyama features a capsule of co-branded products with Medicom Toy that have included basic items such as tees, button-ups and backpacks. Referring back to the Bearbrick, the toy comes in a black velvet finish with the BLACK COMME des GARCONS branding on the back. Available now in 100% form at BOBOS.

Be@rbrick T-600 & Kubrick John Conner Set

Medicom Toy is going to release the Be@rbrick T-600 & Kubrick John Conner Set for the up-coming film – Terminator Salvation. This set of Be@rbrick will be release in May 2009 at ¥3129.

 

Terminator Salvation is an upcoming American science fiction war film set for release on May 22, 2009. Directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol (known as McG), it is the fourth Terminator film and stars Christian Bale as John Connor and Sam Worthington as the Terminator Marcus Wright. It also introduces a young version of the first film’s hero, Kyle Reese, played by Anton Yelchin. The film, set in 2018, focuses on the war between humanity and Skynet. It abandons the formula of previous entries in the series, which involved the Terminator and various other characters traveling through time to protect or kill John Connor.
