Amalgamate Art Book & Box Set By Blaine Fontana

You might remember the talented Blaine Fontana from his Dunny designs Clouds and Patchwork in the LA Series. Now, the Portland based artist has released a new book from Zero+ Publishing called Amalgamate, as well as a super limited handcrafted Deluxe Box Set.

Amalgamate is Blaine’s second book and contains 108 inspiring pages of his unique style. Straddling the physical and metaphysical, organic and architectural, painterly and graphic sensibilities, Fontana fuses multiple visual strategies to forge an aesthetic language entirely of his own making. This visually pleasing 11 x 11-inch hardcover book has an edition of 1,000 copies and now available for $45.

Weighing in at 14-pounds, the Deluxe Box Set is limited to only 10 pieces and contains 9 brilliant art collectibles: an embossed book signed & number, a hand finished 6-color silk screen print, his new Vannen Watch, six 6 x 8-inch postcards, a mini wood sculpture, a retired brush cast in resin box, 1 giclee, a certificate of authenticity, and a 25% off discount code to use for an entire year in Fontana Studios web store. The box is made out of reclaimed wood, and the cover is a CNC routed logo with a casted resin. Blaine himself painstakingly crafted 99% of this box with minimal outsourcing for the routed logo with some oiling and nailing done by his trusty apprentice. Not surprisingly, this $1,500 collector’s must-have is already sold out.

Wrap Up – Huck Gee Book Signing Tour At KRSF

GAME OVER! Huck Gee made it home last night for the final stop in his 11-city book signing tour at Kidrobot San Francisco. Family, friends and fans made it out for the last chance to scoop the tour exclusive white cover edition of his new book, The Art of Huck Gee. Many collectors came prepared with all sizes of Dunnys and MUNNYs as Huck signed and sketched throughout the evening.

Huck Gee’s book signing saga continued last Saturday with a stop at Kidrobot Los Angeles. Fans and friends lined up to score the new tour exclusive white cover edition of The Art of Huck Gee. All heads were in the house including local Kidrobot faves Luke Chueh, Shane Jessup, KaNO and Sket One.

The 11-city tour rides on with Huck signing at Dragatomi tonight Tonight, January 16 and concluding in his hometown on Tuesday, January 17 at Kidrobot San Francisco.

With January dragging by, I am always looking for a way to change things up, and to escape the city….

LUCKILY, I have a trip to the Caribbean planned for next week and I can’t stop counting down the seconds until I am on a sunny beach with a fresh tropical drink in my hand!

As for everyone else who is stuck here in the cold…check out Martin Parr‘s book, Playas, for a little fun in the sun!  Parr documents beach culture in different Latin American countries while traveling with his wife.  It is comical, revealing and you can even smell the tanning lotion that these folks slathered on while browsing the photos!

The man, the myth, the customizer, Huck Gee is gearing up for his whirlwind book signing tour with stops at Kidrobot New York, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Huck will be hitting up 11 cities in 11 days to celebrate the exclusive white cover of his epic new book, The Art of Huck Gee. This rare touring edition will only be available during the signings for a mere $28.00. The 150 page, 6 x 9-inch, hardcover book is published by Presto Art and encompasses all aspects of Huck’s work: customs, prints, illustrations, collaborations and more.

Get down with Huck at KRNY on Tuesday, January 10, KRMIA on Wednesday, January 11, KRLA on Saturday, January 14 and KRSF on Tuesday, January 17. Each event will go from 6-8pm. There will be a very limited supply on hand so get there early to scoop up this highly sought after edition.

Kicking off January 5 and going through January 17, Huck will roll through 11 cities including Denver, Detroit, Chicago, Philly, New York, Miami, Houston, Mesa, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco. For each signing Huck will have a rare white cover collectors edition that will only be available at the book signing events.
