A solid new New Era Cap comes from Mighty Healthy. The New York brand presents a canvas fitted in beige and black with a small patch embroidery on the front and two pockets on the back. The beige one is our favorite, even though the black/purple color combo is also never wrong.
As you’ve probably already seen, Commonwealth partnered with Vans for the “Opening Day Collection” on an Authentic LX and limited edition Majestic Authentic Jersey. What you haven’t seen is the accompanying New Era 5950 fitted. “This Commonwealth “Ribbon C” cap features a Nationals color way with a wool ‘Scarlet’ crown and visor, embroidered “Ribbon C” logo with a midnight navy outline, tonal “For the Greater Good” embroidery on the side, and a flat embroidered “C’MON Anvil” logo on the back, to finish it off we’ve added a gray underbill.” Slated to release April 5th at Commonwealth DC, and there’s more than 12 of these.
DQM gives us a preview of their Spring 2010 Cap Collection. The brand presents 5-panel caps, mesh caps, as well as a series of New Era fitted caps. All in all a very solid line-up of easy to wear caps for the new season.
For Fall 2010 DC Co-Founder and Rally Team Driver Ken Block has teamed with famous illustrator and toy designer Huck Gee to create a one of a kind premium Double Label Collection for the DC LIFE line. Huck Gee, known for his evil skull illustration and Kid Robot toy, created custom graphics for Block. A rally fan and self-proclaimed rally geek, Gee gave his artistic touch to a collection that includes DC’s latest rally silhouette, the Pro Spec 2.0, a premium t-shirt and a fitted New Era cap.
Huck drew a custom logo for the project, featuring a re-imagined Hulk skull in a black shape for a play on Ken’s last name. Adding to that is a tonal monogram of Ken’s #43 in a sleek all black colorway featured on the shoe and cap.
More then a shoe for aesthetics, the Pro Spec 2.0 model incorporates many DC-exclusive technologies and designs, giving it ultimate driving performance. Dynamic Grip Technology, or DGT, is an innovative rubber bottom ensuring maxium control and stability while behind the wheel. DC’s Drop-in Cushion System was also integrated into the Pro Spec 2.0 for exceptional shock absorption and comfort while driving on even the most rugged and harsh terrain. Heel Gel inserts add to the shoe’s technology by soothing jarring shakes and providing added comfort. The shoe is also built with a special leather that allows for extreme abrasion resistance, stain resistance, and waterproofing.
The Double Label project series began in 2001 as part of DC’s Special Project category. Developed as a means for DC to team with many of the notable creative influences that surrounded the skateboarding culture, the projects have resulted in unique opportunities for brand expression and development.

From their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection, Applebum will be releasing next their “Vinyl Dot” pieces. Colorful dots (tiny Hip Hop records) layed on a black space background have been placed on a series of items, including fedora hats, New Era fitted caps, jackets, backpacks, wallets, vests and more.
Staple drops their new “Pigeon” New Era 59FIFTY fitted caps for the season. The small collection features their Iconic pigeon logo on the front of the cap and comes in three colorways including gray wool, navy blue pinstripe and a utilitarian all-black version. The hats are available now at EASTWEST WORLDWIDE.
Heritage Research collaborate with Eastman Leather to produce this stunning Aviator Pack, supplied in authentic wartime issue packaging. It includes the ‘A-2 FLIGHT JACKET’, ‘A-10 GLOVES’ and ‘AVIATORS KIT BAG.’
The A-2 Flight Jacket is an exact replica down to the finest detail. Made from beautiful vegetable tanned Steerhide in authentic Seal Brown, the jacket features 100% plain weave cotton lining, dull nickel collar hook, 100% wool tubular woven rib and fitted with Eastmans exclusive chevron Crown zipper, unrivalled by any other manufacturer worldwide. The Eastman x HR A-2 is supplied with the squadron patch of the 703rd Bomb Sq (who boasted Hollywood legend Jimmy Stewart as a Command pilot) and a brass ACME survival whistle. With two press stud front pockets, shoulder epaulettes and ribbed cuff and hem.
The A-10 glove was standardised on July 20th 1938, and was used throughout the whole of WWII. It was issued to all aircrew and is made from a supple Goatskin leather and lined with a fine wool knit. The ribbed wristlet is also made from a 100% wool knit. These are reproduced to the exact USAAF A-10 spec. Complete with small AAF decal which was applied to all A-10s after early ‘43.
The Aviator Kit Bag is made from a strong 100% cotton OD canvas, this is an exact copy of the original WWII USAAF aviators kit bag, in the early war pale OD shade. It is fastened by way of two sprung chevron Crown zippers, that meet at the top, with a further closure flap with press-studs. Featuring AN stenciling on the side and internal pockets which are selvaged with 100% cotton HBT taping. Large enough for an A-2 jacket, gloves, maps and lunch. Duel labeling and Heritage Research stencil on side.
(My Tummy Toys) For the upcoming Bic Buddy custom show that will be held in the US, Singaporean toy customiser Phu! has transformed an 8-inch D.I.Y. Bic Buddy into a spacecraft figure dubbed the Euro Hover Cruiser.
Similar to the Phu! x Artoys project, this one also comes along with a 3-inch rebel pilot fitted on the inside and features Phu!’s signature usage of recyclable materials such as cardboard, wire and other random objects. Continue reading
