Kaiju Bossy Bear attacks in May!

Bossy Bear, the demanding character from the mind of David Horvath, has transmutated into the 5” Strange Beast Bossy Bear or as witnesses have dubbed him – Monster Bossy Bear! With an SRP of $20, your chances of catching one is good but act fast as there have been rumors of multiple versions as well as the Roseus (or Pink) version sighted.

Altering from his earlier form into a higher state – that of the Kaiju form – Bossy Bear is now more formidable than ever. As part of Toy2R’s scheduled releases for 2011, the Monster Bossy Bear Assortment will delight fans of both the classic form and new fans of his Kaiju inspired look.

Two versions will be released in the assortment – the Classic Blue and the Roseus (or Pink) edition. Fans should be on the look out for variant versions within the assortment as one can never be sure what mood Bossy will be in.

Never really collected much David Horvath/Uglydoll stuff but I really can’t wait for these to drop.  An awesome mashup of western vinyl and kaiju and I look forward to future kaiju figures and colourways, maybe some GID or transprency would be nice ;)

Never really collected Kaiju besides the odd piece but it seems more and more these days that I’m becoming a Kaiju addict, I may have to splash out and I think I’ll start with one of these :]  They’re something of a cross-over point which may prove popular with both Kaiju and Western vinyl fans in equal measure.


I.W.G. Humans Beware Show: Paul Kaiju Preview

I’ve become a little obsessed with these amazing custom shows and the long, slow buildup of half-photos ganked from blogs and Flickr and back alleys of these beautiful, heart-stopping artworks. With Humans Beware coming up in just under a month at Rocketworld, my brain’s already a-splodin’.

Behold this saucy half-preview by Paul Kaiju, from the realm of ‘how is this even possible?’. The bizarre pink honeycomb, the jagged vagina dentata thing goin’ on, and what’s that thing hovering just in the shadows there? I can’t help but think of the amazing, unexpected organic forms of Bob Conge and Plaseebo. Paul Kaiju is truly making something for humans to beware. And envy.

I still get all tingly and giddy looking at these things. Perhaps the IWG plans on conquering us not with weapons, but with tingles. We’ll never suspect it.

Plaseebo – Stone Walker Kaiju to Debut at NYCC

For NYCC, Plaseebo will debut Bob Conge’s Stone Walker figure (8”) – the newest addition to the company’s Great American Kaiju series.  Inspired by the rich geological history of his home in upstate NY, Bob created a detailed back story of a Siberian chieftain who lost his life in the ice age and was latter brought back to life some 1500 years later by a Hopi Medicine as a great stone warrior (full story after the jump).
