If you still haven't heard what Kanye West did over the weekend, then we're just going to chalk it up that you've been asleep for the last couple of days. On Friday night/early Saturday morning, Ye released a new visual for "New Slaves," from his forthcoming and tentatively titled album, Yeezus. And while any drop-off from Kanye is always a big affair, this one was slightly different. The G.O.O.D. Music head honcho decided to project the aesthetic on 66 buildings across the world. This of course had people lining up in the streets of various cities throughout. Here, Sway of MTV spoke with Kendrick Lamar on the event, as expectantly, Kendrick says he is inspired by the delivery and cannot wait to hear West's new album. To check the sit-down in its entirety, press play above.
Kanye West set the internets ablaze once again this weekend with a handful of incredible promotional teasers such as a video worldwide premiere accross six different cities, a polarizing performance in front of a mass national audience and a controversial album title.
First, Kanye took to Twitter on Friday to announce he would be projecting a brand new video for his single “Black Slaves” on 66 locations scattered around the globe, including six in Chicago. Check out some footage at Millenium Park shot by Maks G of GoWhereHipHop here.
Ye then went on Saturday Night Live the following day and performed “Black Slaves” & “Black Skinhead”, both very powerful records infused with an undeniable energy which carried an unapolagetic message. Millon $ Mano also made a cameo behind the boards. You can stream both performances below.
Lastly, on Sunday it was officially announced that Kanye’s forthcoming album would be entitled Yeezus and confirmed the project’s artwork, which was leaked by Kim Kardashian and seen above.
After all the pandemonium there’s nothing left to say but; Yeezus drops June 18th, be sure to cop it and be a part of history.
While we still haven't received the official audio for the single, DJ Fresh Direct has already taken it upon himself to add his own flare to Kanye West's latest single "New Slaves." Taking the audio from his recent performance of the single during Saturday Night Live, Fresh Direct reworks the drums and gives the song a more upbeat danceable vibe. As "Yeezy Season" continues to claim the music world, you can check out the remix down below, and for those interested in grabbing a download, you can do so in exchange for a tweet by clicking here. Kanye West's sixth studio album Yeezus is due out June 18.
Fresh off his performance at the Hangout Festival in Alabama, Kendrick Lamar sat down with MTV to share his thoughts on Kanye West’s premiere of “New Slaves” (that was projected on 66 buildings across the world on Friday night) and his upcoming album Yeezus (check the artwork here).
On the premiere: It sounded crazy. That whole marketing scheme is crazy. It’s very inspiring. After a while you get to a point in hip-hop where certain tactics get watered down. How much music can you release on the Internet to get it hot? How many singles can you put out? How many videos can you possibly do?
On the album: That’s crazy, I want to hear that. That’s that creative Kanye genius stuff out the box … whatever way is his way of being creative and getting his message across through that album, that’s the culture. I can’t wait to hear it.
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few days, you already know by now that it's officially "Yeezy Season." Following his world premiering-tactics used to unveil his single "New Slaves" and performing on last night's episode of Saturday Night Live, Kanye West now shares the official artwork for his upcoming album, Yeezus. While we got our first preview of the cover art courtesy of Kim Kardashian's Instagram, we now get fuller view of the artwork. Following his SNL performance, Yeezus was made available for pre-orders through KanyeWest.com, along with the feature cover art, but the pre-orders have since been taken down. While the image remains available for all our viewing pleasure, we all will just have to wait until June 18, when the full LP hit shelves. We aren't quite sure what to make of the artwork yet, but feel free to let us know your thoughts down below.
We know, it’s a lot of Kanye West news today, but with the artist’s Saturday Night Live performance last night, a lot of news have been unveiled. Aside from playing two new songs, and unveiling what looks to be his new album title “Yeezus”, Kanye was also wearing the red/red Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneaker, the first new colorway after the official two colors, that released in the summer of 2012.
We will of course keep you posted about the release of the sneaker. It would be a nice surprise of these would come out along with the album and in terms of timing it would also be right, compared to previous releases.
It is rather stunning how one image taken by Kim Kardashian can create so much speculation. Not only is the new red on red Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneaker teased on the image, which Kanye West was wearing during his Saturday Night Live performance, but it looks like Kanye’s new album and album title was also featured on the image. It looks like the new album might be called “Yeezus”, a title that we could totally imagine being used by Kanye. Also you can expect appearances by Daft Punk, Odd Future, Skrillex, Chief Keef, Young Chop, TNGHT and more on the new album.
Kanye West is getting closer to his June 18 album release date and thus continues to preview tracks at a series of events. Last night he was the musical guest of the season finale of Saturday Night Live, hosted this week by Ben Affleck.
Not only did Kanye West play the tracks “Black Skinhead” and “New Slaves” (which was already projected around the globe on May 17) live, he also presented for the first time the red/red Nike Air Yeezy 2, which is apparently also coming out in the near future. More on that later.
The Nike Air Yeezy 2 in all red has been spotted on the feet of Kanye West. The sighting comes from his SNL performance, a set that came at the end of an incredible multi-media promotional weekend for Mr. West. Promising that the all red Nike Air Yeezy 2 would be showing up was baby-moms Kim Kardashian, who Instagrammed a sneak peek at the shoes next to what appears to be an advance copy of his upcoming Yeezus album. Continue reading to see Kanye West on Saturday Night Live in the all-red Nike Air Yeezy 2 and stay tuned for any emerging details on this exciting Air Yeezy colorway.

He did not disappoint. With Yeezy season being in full effect, Kanye West brought his new music in the shape of Yeezus-cut "Black Skinhead" to the musical stage of the Saturday Night Live finale. Wearing a black-studded leather jacket and the upcoming all-red Nike Air Yeezy 2′s, Kanye screamed his lyrics with a live band in support. The song features a sample of Marilyn Manson’s Beautiful People”. He was accompanied by an impressive barrage of found imagery which deviated between rottweilers and price tags, including the phrase “Not For Sale."
