2Chainz Signs to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music – Updated

Kanye West & 2Chainz on BET's 106 & Park

Kanye West continues to diversify the roster of his G.O.O.D. Music label with the signing of Atlanta based 2Chainz, otherwise known as the Artist Formerly Known As Tity Boi. The two have already worked together in the past; Mr. West made a cameo on stage with 2Chainz back at SXSW, he then recruited him for the G.O.O.D. Friday Drop of “Mercy” and most recently stopped by 106 & Park when 2Chainz was on air. Announcing the new signing in Mr. West fashion, Kanye tweeted “2 Chainz is charging 100k for a verse now cause he’s G.O.O.D!!!!!!”. Now a few interesting questions arise. Namely what type of crazy sh*t is going to be featured on the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album? Like really, that sh*t is gonna be wild.

Update: 2Chainz appeared on Bootleg Kev’s radio show shortly after Kanye’s Tweet and said that Kanye’s tweet isn’t a label thing.  “He just means, I’m good. Like I’m ill,” 2 Chainz told Bootleg Kev.  2 Chainz will be taxing for guest verses going forward, or at least taking what he deserves. “I was jeporadizing my brand sometimes by doing the homeboy special… I ain’t doing no more of that…  I would’ve done anything a couple months… I’m still grounded, but it makes sense for me to slow down a little bit.”

Oberhofer- Runaway (Kanye West Cover)

Brooklyn-based indie band Oberhofer recently rocked out at both this year's SXSW and Coachella festivals, and to get a little more buzz, the group has let loose their rendition of Kanye West's track "Runaway." The band has previously covered the track and they now share the official version for listeners to check out. While the cover may not be better than the original, it's definitely worth checking out as they provide a quality take on the Kanye classic. Oberhofer's latest album Time Capsules II is available now and you can purchase it by clicking here.

This weekend Kanye was driving through the city, saw some things he didn’t like and decided to go on another Twitter rant: this time all fashion related. Among the menswears trends he hates are button up shirts with hoodies, hoodies with sport coats, khaki cargo shorts, “big ass striped scarves” and “long ass sideburns with the line up RnB beard.” He concluded the rant with “#I’m on my snob,” something we can relate to here at Highsnobiety…

See the rest of Kanye’s menswear Twitter rant after the click.

Kanye West – “Lost In The World” Video

Here’s the newest video from Kanye for the track “Lost In The World.” It’s pretty cool visually but I also can’t help but feel like I’m back in art school watching “experimental art” videos… fam, those fuckin sucked to watch. So this video leaves me torn. I kinda dig it but maybe those same terrible “movies” in college would have been ok if they had hundreds of thousands to spend on it. *jordan shrug*

Woody Presents Kanye West: Remixed

West coast producer Woody releases a superb collective of Kanye West-inspired remixes for a project which he's titled Kanye West: Remixed. Using not only Kanye's own tracks but even songs which the rapper/producer has been featured on, Woody takes a brand new approach to a few Yeezy classics. Having previously produced singles for artists such as Casey Veggies, B.o.B and XV, this remix project will put a few more artists on to the producer. Taking a short time to complete all the remixes, Woody went on to share:

When I first thought of this doing this Remixed project, I had no idea how it would turn out.  I remixed "Lollipop" first and then finished the whole project in a week.  Shouts to Rossco Soletrain for assisting me on this one, dude is a bass and guitar master.

Kanye, can you hear me? Enjoy!

[Video] Kanye West: “Lost In The World”

Kanye West

Kanye West’s latest venture, other than Kim K, is the video for “Lost In The World”, off of his last solo project My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Directed by Ruth Hogben, the video fits Kanye’s style well, blending the lines of art and music into a stylish product that only Kanye would attempt. It works though, watch it below.
