Smiler & Lana Del Rey – Spender (Shirley Bassey Cover)

Being offered today is a duet between UK rapper Smiler and Lana Del Rey covering Shirley Bassey's timeless tune "Spender." The song was recorded back in 2010 when the songstress she was recording in the studio next to the rapper. The track will be featured on Smiler's new mixtape All I Know, due on February 27. Listening to this, we must admit that we would not mind more LDR collaborations with emcees. Who would you like to see her sharing the microphone with?

Lana Del Rey cancels SXSW, postpones Australian Tour

Following the backlash from her SNL performance, a New York Post's report indicated that Lana Del Rey would cancel her previously announced spring tour. Spokesman Matt Hanks quickly denied this allegation indicating that there was never any tour in place to cancel or delay. However, SXSW has now confirmed that the Born to Die singer will not perform at the festival. In addition, Ms. Del Rey also postponed her Australian tour dates, set to take place in late February and early March. According to a press release, "Lana is looking forward to her maiden Australian visit and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused."

Lana Del Rey may not follow up ‘Born To Die’

After recently releasing her well-received debut album Born To Die, Lana Del Rey sat down with the UK's Vogue to discuss exactly what's next — or what isn't, rather. The ever-controversial songstress may leaver herself as a one hit wonder, as she disclosed that she might not even follow up with another project.

"I don't think I'll write another record. What would it say? Everything I wanted to say, I've said already."

So while the media already consistently puts the pouty singer-songwriter through the ringer day in and day out, it will seemingly become a feeding frenzy after comments such as this. All in all, though, we'd have to expect more music from Lana or at least maybe that's just what we hope for. Do you guys think she'll return to the studio?

Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’ projected to debut at No. 2 next week

Unless you've been hiding under a rock somewhere, you probably know that Lana Del Rey's highly anticipated album, Born To Die, hit stores in the United States yesterday. Despite the harsh reviews it has received from some of music's most lauded critics, Del Rey's fanbase is showing that the LP is worth ingesting. Immediately after it went on sale Tuesday morning, Born To Die shot to No. 1 on iTunes and has been holding tight at the top spot since. Based on the way things are going, the album should debut at No. 2 on Billboard's Top 200 chart next week, outsold only by Adele's 21, which is predicted to top the charts for the 19th time since its February 2011 release. Although Billboard and HITS Daily Double are quoting different first week sales figures for Born To Die, with the former projecting 60,000-70,000 units and the latter projecting 55,000-60,000, things are looking bright for Del Rey nonetheless.
