Bodega x Mark McNairy Footwear Collection | Available Now

It’s getting harder and harder to stand out these days. Just think, there are 6 billion people in the world, which equates to 12 billion feet. If you want your dogs in the fight to outshine the rest, then look no further than Mark McNairy‘s footwear collection, created with the help of Boston’s Bodega. Comprised of two derby models and a hiking-inspired boot, the duo create three unique looks using McNairy’s signature design style, all made in England and in extremely limited in quantities. First up is the Leopard-printed Saddle, made up of four (4!) different textiles: pony hair, black nubuck, pebbled leather, and corduroy, all sitting atop a commando sole with a natural leather welt. The Olive Wool Country Brogue features a full-grain waxed almond leather that is split by a herringbone tweed panel, finished with nickel eyelets and beautifully done punched brogue detailing. Rounding out the grouping is the Olive Wool Brogue Boot, with an olive-green wool body mixed with suede brogues and a comfortable Vibram sole. The Collection is available now over at Bodega’s online shop and Boston-based shop and will run you between $500-590 USD.

Mark McNairy New Amsterdam – Fall/Winter 2013 Collection | Runway Video

The video accompaniment to the runway show for Mark McNairy‘s Fall/Winter 2013 collection starts with the backstage preparations, revealing McNairy himself pensively surveying the looks before they’re paraded down the runway. As expected, the apparel on display is bold and brash, ranging from daisy-printed camo outerwear and unlined suiting with rolled up trouser legs, to streetwear-infused Americana pieces like a varsity jacket and polka dot hoodie. It’s a collision of patterns, colors and textures, conveying an effortless cool for like-minded postmodern guys who look past genres and conventions, focusing instead on good looks and fit. Check out the video below.

Mark McNairy – Fall/Winter 2013 Collection | Runway Show

Mark McNairy Fall/Winter 2013 Collection | Runway Show

With only a softly lit backdrop announcing “The Eagle Has Landed” at New York’s Fashion Week, Mark McNairy presented his Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. Seeming to lack a single theme other than being his usual mish-mash of everything streetwear, McNairy’s collection draws from militaristic, Ivy League, and urban design influences equally, which means that the models strutted down the runway wearing everything from olive drab Army twill, button-down shirts with colorful patterns and polka dots, corduroy pants, camo cargo pants, and probably more clown faces than all the other shows combined. McNairy also showcased his deep bench of footwear and accessories, which included bow ties, knit caps, and even an eerie clown-faced balaclavas  The verdict? It looks like the eagle in the case is McNairy himself, clawing out a space of his own in a fashion world eager for designers proud to buck convention. Click through the entire collection, all of which you can expect to see make a seamless and quick transition to the streets, after the jump.

Mark McNairy – Two-Tone Long Wing Brogue Shoe – Grey Suede & Navy Camo

Mark McNairy Two Tone Long Wing Brogue Shoe Grey Suede & Navy Camo

Mark McNairy likes to say he sees no distinction between menswear and streetwear; consequently, his designs for his New Amsterdam label typically straddle both worlds, highlighting premium craftsmanship that defies easy categorization. A prime example is this two-tone longwing brogue, made by Sanders & Sanders of Northamptonshire and featuring a grey premium suede upper complemented with a navy digi camo inlay. Additional details include metal eyelets, waxed laces and punched brogue detail. The made in England lace-ups sit on a brick-colored Ridgeway sole with a durable Goodyear welt. A fully lined leather interior and a Mark McNairy-branded insole finish the look. The brogues are available now at end clothing.
