MINI USA recently asked people to send in their ultimate test drive experience in six words. After choosing a winner, they made his dream test drive a reality, putting together everything on his list and then upping the intensity exponentially. This video takes us everywhere from the city to the salt flats, where we get to see this suped up MINI at top speeds. Florence Street Style Shots

Unfortunately, the most recent major pop culture reference to Florence involves people named DJ Pauly D, Snooki, and JWOWW. But our favorite lens with which to view this historic city has always been its iconic architecture and street style (a far cry from fuzzy boots and sausage-y mini dresses). One of our old interns, Andie Sibincich, has spent the last few months studying abroad in Florence, Italy, and we want to share some of the pics she took for her fashion photography class! These ladies have a downtown cool, vintage inspired aesthetic going on and we will certainly be using them for style inspiration this winter.

Look of the Week: Once A Good Girl’s Gone Bad…

But who cares when being bad looks this good? This damsel’s got an edge and we love every bit of it.  To achieve the look, we layered the gray, One Shoulder Dress by Costume Dept. with the Lola Biker Jacket by Plastic Island. The Fairisle Socks in Ivory and Gray by Free People lend a hint of girlishness to the look while The Mini Bootie in Black by Naughty Monkey and the Abbey Beanie in Gray by Brixton add a hint of much needed sass. We put the finishing touches on our bad girl’s look with the brass tone Time Piece Rose Pendant Necklace by Soho Collection, and the Sneak Out Bag by Jeffrey Campbell Handbags. Boom!

We already gave you a first look at the upcoming 2012 MINI Coupé a couple of weeks ago. Today BMW released another set of images of the fun city racer, as well as the first film on the car, entitled ‘Another Day. Another Adventure.”

“The reveal film, shot in the style of a movie trailer, previews three new MINI commercials set to air from September on. César Charlone, the Oscar-nominated cameraman behind “City of God”, gave the Rio spot a unique feel and highlighted the brand-typical premium characteristics of the MINI Coupé in a particularly striking manner.”

Mini Cooper Goodwood Car

Just over the weekend we presented the upcoming Mini Coupe, and here is now a look at the 2012 Mini Cooper Goodwood. The brand teamed up with the Rolls-Royce designers to add the luxury look and feel of the iconic car to the small Mini. Everything from the wheels, to the leathers, woods and overall the materials has been changed on this version of the Mini, which is due to come out next year, limited to 1000.

The MINI Coupé

Once again BMW is expanding their popular MINI product family. After adding a station wagon version, a lifted all wheel drive variant, the brand is going back to its motor sport roots and will be releasing next the the MINI Coupé.

First images of the final car have now turned up and everything from the engines to the chassis is built to offer a fun and young sports car. The biggest engine will have 211 horsepower, which should be more than enough to make the small car push you into your seats.

MINI Countryman KISS Editions

MINI has teamed up with rock band KISS to release four special Countryman cars. Each car is customized with hand-painted graphics to represent one of the band’s four members.

All four cars have just been put on eBay, with proceeds to be donated to UNICEF to help children in Japan who were affected by the recent floods and earthquake devastation.

Mini has worked with fashion designers Dsquared2 on a special edition Mini Cooper S for the Life Ball 2011 event, Europe’s biggest AIDS charity event, being held in Vienna. Even though we might not enjoy the brand as much as we used to a couple of years ago, we do like what they did with the car.

“Among its striking features are the front guard, rally headlamps, tinted side windows with grilles and the spare tyre on the tailgate. But that’s not all: the vehicle’s raised chassis and deep-tread all-terrain tyres instantly evoke a sense of adventure. When it came to the interior, our two designers similarly scrutinised every detail. If road signs are unclear, there’s a compass to help you head in the right direction, while floormats made of structured aluminium sheeting protect the inside from dirt. The trademark DSQUARED2 maple leaf on the leather head restraints and the side doors rounds off the cabin of this robust MINI with a stylish flour.”

The proceeds of the one off Mini will contribute to the fight against AIDS/HIV. Previous Life Ball Mini’s had been designed by Agent Provocateur, Donatella Versace, Diesel, Missoni and Gianfranco Ferré.

The Mini “Inspired by Goodwood” is an exclusive Mini Cooper worked over by the Rolls-Royce designers at their Goodwood, England headquarters. The exclusive Mini is outfitted with various Rolls-Royce colors and materials including a Cornsilk colored interior, Walnut Burr wood touches on the dash, Piano Black leather, a thick pile carpet underfoot, and a Rolls typeface on the speedometer. No V-12s here; the engine is the same 181 HP 4-cylinder found in the Mini Cooper S. The car will be produced in a limited edition of 1000 and will make its world debut at the Auto Shanghai 2011.
