New Balance 991 Pick Your Shoes Exclusives

Sneaker News previewed five different UK-built colorways of the New Balance 991 back in May, and while they’re finally starting to arrive at retail, it seems one is destined for a fairly tight distribution.  The foremost design from that quintet’s group shot turns out to be a PickYourShoes exclusive, as the NB M991RDT takes its dusty chocolate suede and mesh plus soft blue accents out of the mainstream.  The second NAR (navy and red) edition is a fresh debut that shows just how powerful this particular blocking pattern really is, and you’ll find more photos of both after the jump below.

New Balance 991 “Grey Speckle”

New Balance 991 Grey Speckle

Late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was known for appearing on stage in a black turtleneck and jeans, and more often than not, one particular style of New Balance classic runner that’s only now getting its just due.  For years, the New Balance 991 was considered by many old school running enthusiasts to occupy that purgatory in between straight vintage and modern technical builds, but especially now in a time when all the top new runners are done with myriad synthetics, the 991′s context becomes more clear.  Pictured above is a grey suede design that manages to get quite a ways from the ‘Light Grey’ OG thanks to the dark mesh and ‘N’ along with the speckled midsole, and you’ll find more photos after the jump below before buying yours at Kith.
