2012 is packed with back to back releases but let’s not forget that this year, serves it’s purpose to the Nike Air Force 1. At the same time, it’s also the Year of the Dragon which led to a few releases at the beginning of the year and next month, we’ll be seeing the second addition to the AF-1 YOTD collection. For awhile, the Nike SB Dunk Mid released without the classic strap and soon enough, fans of the SB series began to request the strap back on the mid. This Holiday season, two colorways featuring the timeless strap release in a baroque brown and obsidian colorway. Both will be priced at $90 and will release at NSB retailers. Via Ck

An intriguing message appeared just moments ago from Atelier de Production et de Création, or better known as A.P.C. In bold white lettering on a black background, the content simply reads “A.P.C. + Nike 100 Days”. While cryptic, the message is really an impromptu announcement from A.P.C. on a Nike collaboration later on this year. But what will it be? Another pair of Nike classic kicks? Or something more? And why 100 days from now, which will be approximately around August 30th. Perhaps it will be a design for Fall/Winter 2012…? For clues to come soon.

2012 has been a big year for snakeskin, leopard and a few other animal prints that have been featured on accessories and clothing. Nike’s not too far behind as they will be releasing the upcoming ‘Safari’ Pack, that consists of the Nike Air Safari and Air Trainer 1 next month. Then this upcoming holiday season will bring another set of animal inspired sneakers, with the classic Nike Air Max 1. Dubbed the ‘Leopard Pack’, both of these Nike Air Max 1′s will feature Leopard print panels on the upper, done up in classic suede and mesh. Via HS
We present a detailed look at the Nike Air Force 1 Hi Boot from the 30th Anniversary Series, which is now landing at retailers’ shelves. Carrying a silhouette inspired by the Nike Special Field Boot and finished in Nike’s signature wheat colorway, the shoe’s build features a smooth premium suede overlay and tonal nylon construction. Other details include rope laces, metal eyelets and speed hooks, as well as a gum rubber outsole. A special “AF1 XXX” sockliner finishes the look. Packaged in a matching 30th Anniversary box, the limited edition kicks are in stock now at Tokyo’s mita sneakers.

Long time customizer C2 whips up another amazing custom, using the upcoming Nike Lebron 9 Elite ‘South Beach’ colorway as the base. These can easily pass as a South Beach Elite Low as it displays a Wolf Grey tone on the uppers, with Mint Candy on the sole and pink laces. Let us know what you think about these customs. Via C2
If you’ve been spending time exploring Nike‘s My Time is Now campaign we previewed last week, you might have discovered the interactive hidden tunnels designed to share the insights that today’s soccer stars want to pass along to tomorrow’s top footballers. But, of course with all of the strong and colorful personalities in today’s game, there are some more lighthearted messages woven in with the serious ones, including Manchester City’s prolific and controversial young striker’s, Mario Balotelli, submission. Featuring French player Mamdou Sakho and Argentine star Javier Pastore and set in a traditional barbershop, Balotelli walks in asking the barber for a style “to be remembered.” After trying out the iconic styles of the Brazilians Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, Colobian Carolos Valderrama, and even Chris Waddle, the City striker eventually nods in approval for his own trademark Mohawk.
Paired with the video release is Nike’s Barbershop App, which enables users to emulate their heroes’ styles on their own and share them with their friends, including “The Neymar,” “The Sakho,” and “The Ramos,” among others. The best user-submitted styles will also get a chance to visit one of six physical Nike Barbershop locations around the world, including Buenos Aires, Madrid, Mexico City, Milan and Paris where the latest styles can be fixed for real. A pop-up Nike Barbershop will also be featured in Warsaw during Europe’s major football tournament this summer.
