A.P.C. x Nike – 100 Days | Teaser

A.P.C. x Nike 100 Days | Teaser

An intriguing message appeared just moments ago from Atelier de Production et de Création, or better known as A.P.C. In bold white lettering on a black background, the content simply reads “A.P.C. + Nike 100 Days”. While cryptic, the message is really an impromptu announcement from A.P.C. on a Nike collaboration later on this year. But what will it be? Another pair of Nike classic kicks? Or something more? And why 100 days from now, which will be approximately around August 30th. Perhaps it will be a design for Fall/Winter 2012…? For clues to come soon.

Nike Air Epic Vintage – Obsidian & Light Bone

Nike Air Epic Vintage Obsidian & Light Bone

Typically reserved for an English Literature class, you don’t usually see the word “epic” used to define a sneaker. But, when you realize that, just like their storybook versions, these kicks have a long, grandiose history of their own centered around a hero of a image, you can begin to see where Nike was going with this one. Spotted in both a Medium Grey/Obsidian and a Light Bone/Soft Grey colorway with a pre-yellowed midsole, this runner looks like its been waiting since its original first dropped in 1985 just for this day. A mix of suede and mesh cover the upper while vintage Nike branding and detailing, such as a perforated heel and padded ankle, finish off the look. Click after the jump for more looks. These are available now at England’s end clothing.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” – Surprise Re-Stock at 21 Mercer

Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy Surprise Re Stock at 21 Mercer
Knowing full well the reactions they will receive, Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer did something quite intriguing this morning. A handful of unsuspecting shoppers walked into the store and found a lone Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy sitting on the shelf. Yes, the store secretly restocked its inventory of the prized edition, the same ones that have caused such upheavals across the country just some months ago, overnight. No announcements, nor was there any email, tweets, text, and etc… Employees at 21 Mercer wanted a release much like how it was decades ago, when stores would simply put new sneakers out on display. At the same time, it is also a way to reward their staunchest supporters, who would swing by the store on a daily basis. Unfortunately, within an hour of its release, the store emptied out its entire stock. But do expect the store to repeat similar unannounced re-releases of other highly sought after editions from now on.

Fresh Celeb: Jay-Z – Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Wolf Grey”

Fresh Celeb: Jay Z Nike Air Yeezy 2 Wolf Grey

With a giant American flag as the backdrop, Jay-Z looked mighty presidential in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art earlier today. Together with Mayor Michael Nutter, the hip-hop mogul announced his latest initiative, the Budweiser Made in America music festival. To take place over Labor Day weekend this September at the City of Brotherly Love, Jay-Z will curate the line-up of talents to appear, including Kanye West himself. And of course, as a show of support to his friend, Hov sported a brand new pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Wolf Grey” at the press conference. Images: ItsTheRealJeff // Philadelphia Inquirer

Nike Lunar Woven Flow – Golden Sash/Midnight Navy-Summit White

Nike Lunar Woven Flow Golden Sash/Midnight Navy Summit White

It looks to be some more Lunar Woven Flow will be arriving in store later this year. And it isn’t all that surprising either considering the influx of Woven designs from Nike in the last few months, from other Lunar Woven Flow to the most recent Air Woven series commemorating the upcoming Euro Cup. In tonal design much like the already available Lunar Woven Flow in Black/Black-Light Bone, the yet to be launch model features a brilliant canary yellow, or in Nike designers’ term, golden sash. A sockliner in midnight navy to tone the color down a bit while the usual white Lunarlon sole serves as contrast. No words on release dates thus far though some Asian retailers have already gotten some pairs in their inventories. One nagging question remains, might this be a possible future addition to the LIVESTRONG Collection? via: Kasina

Nike x Tom Sachs – NIKECraft Collection

Nike x Tom Sachs NIKECraft Collection

He’s not just an artist. A better way to describe Tom Sachs is that he’s a “envisionist”. From what he sees as “could have” possibilities, Sachs devises artworks of unimaginable scales and scope, like his depiction of NASA‘s space program to Mars, in his studio in New York. On the eve of his SPACE PROGRAM: Mars exhibit, Sachs fathomed a post-exploration life on the fourth planet and the result was his NIKECraft Collection with Nike.

Conceptualized within the contexts of an extraterrestrial lifestyle under extreme circumstances, Sachs’ approach to the designs was one near artisanal, crafted in his signature D.I.Y. methods. Since resources would in shortage in outer space, Sachs utilized whatever is salvageable and conduced them into functional wear. Recycled automotive air bags, used mainsails for boats, even Astronauts’ spacesuits became base materials for the collection’s Mars Yard Shoe, the Trench, The Marsfly Jacket, and the Lightweight Tote. Functional aesthetics found throughout, Sachs fashioned parachute cords in pull strings, zipper pulls doubled as storage compartments, even the lowly periodic table was now a decor for the reversible trench coat. The NIKECraft Collection will be the closest thing the rest of us will have to a journey to Mars.

Nike Zoom Rookie LWP “Memphis Blues” PE

Nike Zoom Rookie LWP Memphis Blues PE

Staying on the “blue” theme, Nike and Nike Basketball have set wide-reaching goals in the promotion of Penny Hardaway signature sneakers or related designs for the last years. Starting with first with the continuous introduction Air Foamposites, follow by Air Penny V, and more recently the addition of Nike Zoom Rookie LWP. The onslaught continues this year, as seen in the chaos surrounding the release Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” and the purported Zoom Rookie “Galaxy”. Now there is this, the Nike Zoom Rookie LWP “Memphis Blue” PE in a tonal treatment of Royal Blue with anodized accents around crucial portions on the upper. No official release information is available thus far but its more than likely that these will be on top of fans’ wishlists this year. Photos via: MarqueeSole
