Curtis Kulig is the artist behind the ambiguous, mixed-message “Love Me” tags you may have before seen on the sides of buildings high above New York City streets, or in galleries featuring canvas prints of the same. The longtime friend of Shepard Fairey is collaborating with OBEY for the first time, on a line of limited-edition apparel for men and women in OBEY’s 2012 Spring/Summer catalog. The line remains faithful to the work of both artists, with OBEY’s signature aesthetic and Giant graphic getting finished with Kulig’s all-over Love Me tag. Available now from the OBEY online store, you can peep the full collection here.

Build This Look: Mixing Work with Play

Most office environments can be a bit blah when it comes to showcasing personal style. But not ours! Yes, our office is probably better than yours ;) We have young ladies running around that bring something fresh to the office everyday and I LOVE it. Our business casual is probably on a different scale then most. So I thought I should show you how we do it.
One thing I am a big fan of is mixing patterns. I think it brings out what is really going on in my head. I will definitely be that old crazy lady where nothing on matches…and look forward to it! But until then here is the clever way of pairing prints without catching too many crazy looks.
Her breakdown:

Obey: Supply & Demand 20th Anniversary Edition
As it gets colder, I find myself wanting to stay in and spend time with my book collection. Today, I grabbed my copy of Obey: Supply & Demand 20th Anniversary Edition to have another read through it. It is a hefty book, but completely worth the extra pounds. Plus, if you’ve been sitting awhile reading it, you can always do a few curls to make sure your svelte physique lasts through the cold weather. This book is a comprehensive collection of the growth of artist Shepard Fairey and his most recognizable moniker and street art project, Obey. Through Fairey’s own words and the words of respected authors, writers, artists and critics in the art community, including Roger Gastman, co-author of The History of American Graffiti, the reader learns more about the history, process and motivation behind Fairey’s journey as an artist as well as his run ins with the law and thoughts on other artists. The book’s coverage is extensive and well presented, with a stellar amount of images of Fairey’s work throughout the years. And it doesn’t hurt that when purchasing this book, you also get a free color poster.

TIME Magazine Person Of The Year 2011 – The Protester | Cover By Shepard Fairey

They are without a singular identity or a singular ideal. And yet they move in masses as if they were a conscious organism, ready to give voice to the silenced, remedy the unjust, and challenge the status quo. They are the protesters you’ve seen on your nightly news broadcasts or at Zuccotti Park if you live in New York City. And come this week, they will also be TIME Magazine Person Of The Year for 2011. Beating out Admiral William McRaven, Congressman Paul Ryan, future queen Kate Middleton, and a protester himself, artist Ai Weiwei, TIME profiled Mohamed Bouazizi, whose self-immolation led the start of so-called Arab Spring, and the 18 days that took down Egypt strongman, President Hosni Mubarak. It also highlighted the Occupy movement stateside and Loukanikos, the famous dog who participated at every protests this year in Athens. One other familiar element will be the magazine’s cover art, done by Shepard Fairey, an agent provocateur himself. Crafted in a likeness that is neither male or female, nor any race, nationality, religious orientation, the image is in relation to the overall movement, be it in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, or the U.S.
