Takashi Murakami EGO Exhibition Preview | Doha

We already gave you the heads up on Takashi Murakami’s middle eastern debut entitled EGO, and we’re back now with some preview images from the show in advance of its February 9th opening. Included in the exhibit are a gang of Murakami’s most famous works, among them his twisted imagery inspired by the nuclear generation which runs side by side with his uber-cute characters and burning bright pastel imagery. Billed as a self portrait of sorts, the massive space seeks reflect the mind of Murakami in all of its bizarre imagery and surreal shapes. Jean Michel Basquiat x Reebok Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Reebok is continuing the partnership with Jean-Michel Basquiat, unveiling the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Just as the previous seasons, the majority of the current season is made up of Reebok‘s iconic sneakers, yet some new apparel pieces are introduced to broaden the collection. Footwear range consists of Omni Pump Lite, Freestyle and Top Down, while the apparel line includes outerwear, cardigans and t-shirts. As one would expect, each piece is decorated by the famous drawings and handwriting by Basquiat. Precise dates of the release is yet to be confirmed but select Reebok accounts should be receiving these items sometime this month. via: PROVIDER

Air Jordan 2012 All Star Game East vs West Editions

Considering Michael himself was a perennial NBA All-Star who had his share of memorable highlights over countless All-Star weekends during his playing career, it’s no wonder that Jordan Brand is again preparing a special All-Star pack for the latest installment of the franchise. The special edition 2012 will come in two different colorways — red for the Western Conference, navy representing the East.  Both feature a premium nubuck upper with white interior and outsole. Swagger x Samurai Magazine Capsule Collection

Japanese street-style magazine Samurai has gotten together with Swagger on a capsule collection built with a strong foundation of casual menswear essentials and accessories imprinted – both literally and figuratively — with the trademark. There are denim woven shirts finished with colorful paisley trim and the logo in tonal block letters across the back, plus matching denim shorts with identical design elements in the same relaxed silhouette. The recurring paisley motif appears on a logo pocket tee in white and navy colorways, as well as the requisite accessories program made up of snapback cap, tote bag and bandana. Nitraid Spring/Summer 2012 Collection | Preview

Tokyo based streetwear giant Nitraid is seeing green this season, as evident by the images from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection lookbook. Nitraid fans would be aware that they prepare a special camouflage design each season and this season’s original pattern is titled Dope Forest. Ample pieces feature this custom weed pattern on their outerwear, tops, t-shirts, pants, shorts, head wear, and bags. This season also includes plenty of collaboration caps and hats with New Era, along with a wide range of accessories such as ash trays, lighters, mugs and even goggles. Having been in the same circle of creative types for a number of years, the only thing surprising about this upcoming collaboration is why it took and Hiroshi Fujiwara so long? Right off UNDFTD‘s successes with CONVERSE Poor Man’s Weapon, Cruz unveiled the yet to be named Chuck Taylor All Star on his Instagram. While no details were given, the design looked to be predominantly red, white accents, and with logos from fragment design and . Rumor has it that the design might be a Valentine’s Day edition. But with that special day fast approaching, we doubt that is the case. Whatever it might be and whenever it might be release, there about to be more information to follow soon. via: Eddie Cruz

FTC Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Lookbook

To those outside of skateboarding circles, FTC may seem like just another skateboard brand, yet in its home town of San Francisco, it is a place where skateboarding legends are born. Already 25 years in the making, FTC is still at the forefront of skateboarding and in streetwear, offering apparel and accessories that are loved by many around the world. Take a look at their Spring/Summer 2012 collection lookbook for instance, it features legendary skateboarders Mike Carroll and Jovontae Turner, as well as PJ Ladd and James Capps. UNDERCOVER x UNIQLO UU Collection | Preview

When the collaboration between UNDERCOVER and UNIQLO was first announced back in July 2011, it was rumored to be a special project that would be sold exclusively at UNIQLO Ginza flagship store in Tokyo. However, with their official launch announced today, it is apparent that the UU Collection will in fact be hitting the shelves of UNIQLO stores around the world. The launch will occur simultaneously in 11 countries on Friday, March 16th 2012, so make sure the date is marked on your calender. For the time being, UNIQLO have released the lookbook on their UU micro-site, showcasing family oriented activities and clothing which is the focus of the capsule collection. White Mountaineering Isetan Shinjuku Mens Store Opening Collection

White Mountaineering recently moved their flagship store to a larger space in Ometesando, however more expansion is planned for this year. The Isetan Shinjuku Men’s plays a pivotal role in offering the latest menswear from Japan and around the world, and this will be home for their second store in Tokyo. The grand opening is slated for tomorrow – Wednesday, February 1st 2012 – and to commemorate the opening, a special collection has been prepared. All of the limited edition pieces are created in monochromatic tone, consisting of Luggage Vest, Jacquard Border T-Shirts, Short Visor Caps and Original Jacquard Hi Socks.
