There's no denying that Q-Tip is working with interesting individuals these days, and according to his Instagram account indicates that we can add Disclosure to that list now. The rap icon posted the picture above along with the caption: "Studio tonight with these guys." Five words that should leave plenty of room for speculation.
Arguably one of the most interesting collaborations in recent tv history is about to take place. As Deadline reports, Q-Tip is teaming up with Leonardo DiCaprio and DiCaprio's Wolf of Wall Street co-star Jonah Hill, to develop a TV series based on his experiences with A Tribe Called Quest. There is no writer yet for the drama project, which will be produced through DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way and is expected to be presented to networks next week. Stay tuned as more information regarding this project is likely to arrive soon.
The chemistry between Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio in last year’s The Wolf of Wall Street was palpable, as praised heavily in my review of the film. Apparently, that chemistry extended itself to at least a partnership beyond the camera as Deadline is reporting the two...

Pretty much anyone who grew up in the ’90s (actually who doesn’t know this song) knows A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario” featuring Busta Rhymes. It was one of the biggest hits to come out of the Native Tongues collective, and one of those songs that, no matter where you are, you have to sing along with Bust’s line “RRRRAOWR, RRRRAOW, like a dungeon dragon“. It’s actually very interesting that Busta and Tip haven’t done a project together before this.
As the trailer to the project showed us, these two icons came up together and are the bestests of friends. Their chemistry is undeniable and I really hope we get to see them tour together next year. Last week, MTV released Busta’s “Thank You” track featuring Yeezus and Weezy that will be on Busta’s E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2. Earlier this week, we got visuals for the track, and last night, the interwebs was treated to the full mixtape, The Abstract and the Dragon. Filled with the Abstract’s production and classics, this is a must download for any head or any new music lover that hasn’t heard some any of these classics. You can download and stream the mixtape below.

After Busta Rhymes‘ long awaited return to form with “Thank You,” which featured Q-Tip, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, he’s just dropped a full mixtape, a collaborative effort with Queens-born Q-Tip. Titled The Abstract and the Dragon, the mixtape is comprised of classics, remixes and new collaborations. Also featured are contributions from artists such as Raekwon, Missy Elliott and Talib Kweli, alongside tributes to Chris Lightly and J Dilla. You can stream the mixtape below or cop the free download here.
Without further adieu, Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes come through with their brand new collaborative mixtape, The Abstract & The Dragon. The tape boasts 28 tracks, some reworks of old tracks and some new, and also includes features from Redman, Raekwon, Talib Kweli, Missy Elliott and more. While there was time when each emcee's respective camp had beef with the other, its great to see a quality project come to life between G.O.O.D. Music and YMCMB. At long last, the highly anticipated mixtape is here.

During an interview with Elliott Wilson for Jay Z’s Life + Times, Q-Tip went on to confirm that he and Rick Rubin will be producing Kanye West’s forthcoming album. At around the eight minute mark, when asked about what he’s been working on, Q-Tip didn’t beat around the bush: “I’m producing Kanye’s new album, with Rick Rubin.” As you may remember, during an interview with Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club, Kanye compared his upcoming album with Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The U.S.A.
Bruce Springsteen dropped this album called Nebraska and right after that he did Born In The U.S.A.. This next one, I have a feeling, because of what we did right now, has to be Born In The U.S.A..
