Reebok ‘Shaqnosis’ 2012

The ‘Shaqnosis’ was Shaquille o Neal’s signature shoe in the 90′s, and became one of the most recognizable silhouettes that shaped Reebok Basketball 20 years ago. With the ‘Retro’ Era in full effect, Reebok’s brought back the classic sneaker but this time, it features a Hexalite design that gives this 20 year old model a modern look. These will undoubtedly have Shaq fans go crazy and with Reebok opening the vault with their oldest models, you can expect more classics like this in the coming months. Via Defy

Reebok Question – White / Pearlized Red – New Photos

Last week, breaking news was announced on behalf of Reebok about the return of the Question model and with a release date already in effect, fans have started anticipating this big release. However, some might recall a different toe box on the original version, as this ‘Retro’ model features a pearlized leather material on the toe. Regardless of this minor change, these will be one of Reebok’s biggest releases yet. You’ll be able to cop these at retailers like Mr Rsports on May 25th.

Basketball was exciting in Philly during the late 90′s. The Sixers had just drafted one of the most anti-prototypical players in history in Allen Iverson – a 6’0′ point guard with the mentality of a gun-slinging shooting guard and the fearlessness of a Power Forward. Before he created the new fashion trend with his cornrows and casual courtside wear, Allen Iverson sparked things in his rookie year by winning the best honor for a first-year player and putting the moves on Michael Jordan, and eventually ‘The Answer’ went on to appear in multiple All-Star games, win four NBA Scoring Titles, earn an MVP award, and advance to the NBA Finals. Allen Iverson was the new era of NBA Player, and again, we can’t help but think back to where it started – the Reebok Question. The Pearlized Toe version, a Philly-exclusive release back in the day – will return later this month in a much-awaited return. Find these on May 25th at select Reebok accounts nationwide like Mr R Sports. Reebok Question – White – Red – Detailed Images

When Reebok announced the return of the OG Question Mid, many memories of a young Allen Iverson during his beginnings with the Philadelphia 76ers were brought back. With just a few weeks away from the release, many individuals who own this classic, plan on putting their OG pair away and purchasing the newer version which will be limited from what sources say. As of now, the only places that are confirmed to carry the Question Mid will be: Reebok.com, Jimmy Jazz, Villa, Shoe Palace, and Shiekh’s. Will you be purchasing this classic sneaker on May 25th?

The shoe that became as iconic as the Rookie of the Year who wore it, Reebok’s Question Mid was aptly named for a player who many questioned ahead of the 1996 draft. Yet, defying all who questioned his size and skill, 21 year-old Allen Iverson became the No. 1 pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in one of the deepest drafts.

Iverson would answer many questions the minute he stepped onto a professional basketball court. Exploding for 30 points in his first game, he continued to exceed the already high expectations during his rookie season with a dazzling display of fearless play and scoring ability. Whether he was breaking ankles with his deadly crossover or putting up 40+ points in 5 straight games, Iverson racked up a number of signature moments in the Reebok Question during his unforgettable rookie season.

Originally released in 1996, the Question would become one of the best-selling Reebok sneakers ever created and a staple of nearly every “Top Sneaker” list. The shoe featured a full-grain leather upper and a pearlized outsole. But, perhaps the most unique design detail was the honey-comb shaped Hexalite cushioning system alongside the shoe marking the first time Reebok’s technology would be blown out to the midsole. Considered the most popular model in Iverson’s signature Reebok line, the Question is a classic “must have” for sneaker collectors and basketball fans alike.

The Reebok Question and Allen Iverson chat has been heating up on Sneaker News, and with the confirmation of a release for later this month, the excitement over one of the most iconic basketball shoes of the 90′s (and perhaps all time) is boiling up to one of Reebok’s best releases of the year. Looking back at Allen Iverson’s most memorable moments in the Reebok Question (like when he crossed up Michael Jordan in the White/Navy colorway) certainly brings forth that ‘must-have’ aura about the sneaker, so the OG pearlized-toe version which is scheduled to drop this May 25th, we get to re-live one of the most energetic eras of the NBA and sneaker history. The Reebok Question White/Red will be a one-time release at select retailers including Reebok.com, Jimmy Jazz, Villa, Shoe Palace, and Shiekh’s, so check out these new shots of the Questions as well as some throwback stills of A.I. burning up the league below!

Reebok Builds Custom Shoes for Nation’s Tallest Man

Reebok Builds Custom Shoes for Nations Tallest Man

“Physically, just how big they are is a huge challenge.”

Reebok struck gold in 1992 when they signed an LSU junior center to a shoe deal just as he was readying to become basketball’s biggest personality since Michael Jordan. Shaquille O’Neal hadn’t yet racked up any of his Hall of Fame credentials, but he was still an unmatched specticle thanks to size 22 shoes that made a bigger splash in the mainstream media than Kazaam. Now two decades later, RBK prepares to outfit an even larger man, in fact, the tallest person in all of America.

Igor Vovkovinskiy got up with Reebok researchers yesterday to see what he could do about soothing his massive size-26 feet, a lack of support for which remains the main cause for a slew of recent surgeries on the 7’8″ Kiev product. Igor’s insurance company weren’t sympathetic to the challenges of such a humongous tarsal structure, so Reebok stepped in to create a personalized last at a total cost of somewhere around $25,000. And even though Igor won’t be winning any scoring titles, MVPs or championship rings any time soon, might the good will from large-footed customers who hear about this story make this a worthwhile investment? Click through to see the video in full and let us know where this ranks compared to the other unique stories we’ve detailed here on Sneaker News.

Allen Iverson Wears Reebok Question 3 In China

Allen Iverson Wears Reebok Question 3 In China

When you think of the most ground-breaking sneaker endorsement contracts, names like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Derrick Rose come up. Let’s not forget Allen Iverson, the man who was the only reason why Reebok Basketball was on the map in the late 90′s-early 2000′s and owns one of the longest-running signature sneaker lines in history; after signing a lucrative endorsement contract upon his entrance into the NBA, Iverson made quite the extension to the terms of his deal in late 2001, which, in a nutshell, made him a Reebok athlete for life.

Though Iverson’s services may no longer be needed in the NBA at the moment, China has opened its arms to the former MVP and almost immediately, A.I. caught the attention of the U.S.-based sneaker newswire as he wore the Reebok Question during one of his games. During a recent outing that featured former NBA stars Dennis Rodman, Clyde Drexler, and Stephon Marbury, Iverson unearthed another gem from the Reebok stash – the Reebok Question 3; this particular pair appears to be a PE of some sort – perhaps a product of Reeboks’ YourReebok online customization module, but what does this mean on a larger scale? With Reebok makings its presence in the Lifestyle sector with the help of hip-hop stars, will we see a re-issue of the Reebok Question and Reebok Answer line? Check out Iverson and the Question 3 after the jump and let us know what you feel about a potential return. Photos: hupu
