I usually don’t lose my shit while blogging and especially not while in public but it’s hard not to get open to the sounds of Trampy X Danny Brown, the music literally demands that we do. I made it through the first minuet of  ”#Express Your-Self” without doing anything outside of the ordinary head bob but that didn’t last. I don’t know if it was the giant latte I just drank or Danny’s bruising delivery but halfway through the track I TURNT UP. Judging from the looks I got from the barista I think I have a pretty on-point cooking dance.

The Diplo & Switch collective returns with the fourth installation in their remix series. As usual they provide the full spectrum of today’s bass music while making sure not to neglect  their island inspired roots. Personally I’m partial to the “Get Free” remix feat. Hearing Slum Village over anything other than Dilla production is something I’m still not totally used too and I’m not sure that I ever will get used to it which makes it a daunting task for any producer to step up and fill in. So when I pressed play on this new “Cash Out” joint I did it with a critical ear and I am pleasantly surprised. With this future primitive boom bap production Mobb Deep’s Havoc takes SV into a place I’ve never heard them before give a it listen below.

While Roc Marciano was in Chicago for a Closed Session and performance at Digital Freshness, he hit the studio with Tree, the rising emcee/producer who gained much notoriety with last years Sunday School mixtape.  Roc and Tree definitely hit it off in the studio and after one thing led to another, Tree began spontaneously asking Roc Marciano a series of questions relating to Roc’s realization of skills, wordplay, and imagery within his craft. Definitely a dope clip. Lookout for Sunday School 2 coming soon via Closed Sessions, as well as the proper Roc Marciano CS as well.

Q has been making his radio rounds as he prepares his newest LP Oxymoron, and he recently checked in with the big homie Sway. The interview produces classic conversation from the two; as Q shares that the Schoolboy Q strain of OG Kush he purchased at a medical club is horrible, and to make matters worse the clerk didn’t even know who he was servicing.
