Air Jordan XII ‘Metallic Green’ Sample

Air Jordan XII Metallic Green Sample

Ray Allen took home the 2011-12 NBA Feet PE Championship thanks to new additions to the sickest Air Jordan player exclusive library this side of Michael Jordan himself.  Given the energy surrounding designs like his black/green Air Jordan XIIIs or the Martin Luther King Day 12s, wouldn’t Jordanheads go absolutely insane over the pair pictured above?  While not specifically named or seen as a Sugar Ray SMU, this Air Jordan XII‘s metallic green upper and its even-cleaner-than-’Cool Grey’ blocked white accents is a natural match for the NBA’s all-time three-point king.  They also have a pearly, almost Foamposite-like sheen that we recently saw on an AJXVI sample earlier this month; would you have purchased designs like these, had the ‘anodized’ look been extended beyond the AJ1 and Six Rings?  Let us know when you click through to see more images of one of the more impressive unreleased Air Jordan samples we’ve seen in recent memory and stick with Sneaker News for updates after you check out the auction from brokeonjordans on eBay.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Wear-Test Sample

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Wear Test Sample

Of the lengthy sneaker-design process, the Wear-Test stage is a make-or-break affair; it doesn’t matter if the shoe looks amazing – if it doesn’t perform to the standards of the athlete, it’s back to the drawing board for the design crew. Of course, a lot of elements from a sneaker’s predecessor is carried on, but when looking at the progress of Kobe V to VI, the most notable change is the enlarged heel-cup – perhaps Kobe needed a bit more stability in that area for when he makes his daring cuts sand drives to the hoop. This Wear-Test sample of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI shows the sneaker free of any structural support – just the snake-skin TPU shell and the stencil-pained Swoosh on the upper, and the a solid one-piece midsole without the design ridges and the heel Zoom chamber. With the minimalistic appeal of this sample, the Kobe VI almost looks like a funky lifestyle shoe rather than one that was made on court, but credit Eric Avar for bringing street style and basketball sense into one cohesive unit. A gallery awaits you below, so take a look and cop this sample now from identitiesrevealed on eBay.

Nike LeBron X ‘USAB’ Sample

Nike LeBron X USAB Sample

Recent previews of LeBron 9 Low and Zoom LeBron Soldier 6 draped in the colors of USA Basketball have us wondering what King James will wear as he represents the Stars and Stripes in London this summer, but if we remember back to the original Nike promo materials, it looks like he’ll be in a similar position with the Zoom Hyperdunk 2012 as Kobe Bryant was to the original four years ago.  So while it seems likely that ‘Bron will lead that charge, it’s fairly self-evident that the Olympic Games would provide a perfect stage upon which to debut the Nike LeBron X.  This new preview image of the ‘USAB’ LeBron 10 reveals, among other details, a unique ‘reversed’ heel Swoosh in the style of the (right) Zoom LeBron II’s ankle strap, the LeBron 10′s new traction pattern and a mudguard-level that suggests even the most advanced Hyperfuse constructions are still grounded in fundamental cordovan techniques.  Click through for more, let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for updates including all the LeBron X release dates.  via LRJ23

Air Jordan XII – French Blue – Black – Copper | Unreleased Sample

Air Jordan XII French Blue Black Copper | Unreleased Sample

We’re smack in the middle of a mini-renaissance of AJ12 fashion, so here’s a look at another piece of Air Jordan XII heat following last night’s ‘Ray Allen’ PE feature; this unreleased sample features the early ’04 French Blue version but with a solid black outsole and Copper/Bronze detailing on the heel pull-tabs and on the outsole, an apparent tie-in to the Washington Wizards. These could quite possibly have been the original ‘French Blue’ version, but in light of Michael’s retirement from the Wizards by the end of the ’02-’03 season, a true Wizards colorway would’ve been a clear anachromism. What resulted was the French Blue/Varsity Red colorway, which featured a white heel-tab, definitive red accents on the outsole (particularly the visible carbon fiber plate on the outsole), and the silver ‘Jumpman’ at the midfoot. Do you think Jordan Brand should release some ‘Wizards’ colorways of Air Jordan Retros? Check out the gallery of this rare Air Jordan sample below and if you want to throw some bids on this deadstock pair, check out the auction from rapodoc on eBay.

Nike Air Force 25 Low ‘Oregon Ducks’ Sample

Nike Air Force 25 Low Oregon Ducks Sample

We’re almost to the point in the game where the list of Beaverton born sneakers that haven’t come out in a University of Oregon styled colorway at some time other another is shorter than the list of those that have. The latest to enter the conversation with the green and yellow mixture is this sample pair for the Nike Air Force 25 Low, a bit of an outcast in the Force line that unfortunately doesn’t get too much time to shine. Aside from the obvious color combos and ‘O’ logo hits the shoes sneak in some other details alluding the Eugene’s status as the birthplace of all things Swoosh, with the waffle irons pictured on the tongue tag referencing the initial innovations made at Hayward Field. Click through the photos after the jump for a better look and cop this Nike Air Force 25 Low ‘Oregon Ducks’ sample now from dballaholic on eBay.

Nike Dunk iD ‘Be True’ Samples

Nike Dunk iD Be True Samples

The ‘Original 7′ Nike Dunks forever linked Arizona, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, St. Johns, UNLV and Villanova with the expression ‘Be True to Your School’.  No longer just a lesser single from The Beach Boys, ‘Be True’ stood for a certain style of two-toned colorblocking that’s been the Dunk’s default for over a quarter-century.  And when that style collides with NIKEiD, not only can you pick whichever colors you want to use, but you can also define your own ‘school spirit’ with a new blocking pattern of your choice.  The Nike Dunk ‘Be True’ iD features options ranging from classic BTTYS-style varsity colors all the way to glossy metallics and all of them can be personalized with heel detailing.  Check out some samples below and let us know which palette you chose to build your ‘Be True’ Dunk iDs.

Eminem x Air Jordan IV ‘Encore’ – Sample Version

Eminem x Air Jordan IV Encore Sample Version

With genuine DS pairs about as rare as an autographed first pressing of Infinite, the Eminem x Air Jordan IV ‘Encore’ is one of the most desired collectibles born in this age of collaboration.  Em’s IVs came in a distinctive Lions-leaning blue nubuck upper just like the sample version pictured here, but instead of a matching eyelet wing, this nixed design went with the traditional polymer build.  This coupled with a lighter grey on the mid- and outsoles makes for an easy spot, but then again, the photos that you’ll see after the jump below are likely as close as any of us will get to seeing these in person.  Let us know if the right one was issued and stick with Sneaker News for more rare Air Jordan samples like this one revealed by former Jordan Brand head and current Nike Sportswear lead man Gentry Humphrey.

Air Jordan IV – Red/White Sample

Air Jordan IV Red/White Sample

It certainly is taking quite a while for another adult colorway of the Air Jordan IV to release, because the upcoming Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’, set to drop on May 12th, would be the first Air Jordan IV since mid-February’s White/Cement release. Perhaps that elongated gap between Retro IVs is because this Red/White sample was scrapped; as stated in the size-tag (the only true piece of information we can use to date a sneaker), this Red/White sample with a unique matte Foamposite-like upper (as described by the owner) was destined for a Spring 2012 release (Jan-Mar), but it appears that Jordan Brand is following last year’s formula of Retro drops by sticking to OGs and one new concept (the aforementioned ‘Cavs’). With these popping up as well as Gentry’s White/Red Laser IV, perhaps 2012 was intended to be a crazier year for Retro releases, but given the current state of sneaker mania and Nike’s complete upheaval of its sneaker release process, maybe it’s better that these stayed inside the factory doors. We’ve got a detailed look at this tonal-red Air Jordan IV sample below, so take a look and join in on the bidding slugfest from this listing from brokeonjordans on eBay.

Air Jordan XI DMP ‘Eyelet’ Sample

Air Jordan XI DMP Eyelet Sample

While the ‘Blackout’ edition that popped up a short while back would probably be the most legendary of all Air Jordan XI samples, it was but a single shoe. And given how many Air Jordan XI ‘Eyelet’ mockups we’ve seen over the years, that variation might be the most widely discussed unreleased Eleven. Add it to the most recent pair that released (and on the DMP version, no less!) and we’re looking right now at another design that’s going to have Jordanheads buzzing.

These Air Jordan 11 DMP samples were constructed in August, 2005 in advance of the VI/XI Defining Moments Package launch in January of the following year, but these spell ‘JORDAN’ across their nylon eyelets unlike the pristine released version. The seller notes that some of the letters are slightly scuffed as a result of him pealing off the first coat of shrinkwrap in search of a proof of authenticity, so while this deadstock pair isn’t a perfect 10, its subtle blemishes offer further proof of its status as an elite collector’s item. Examine all these details and more below, then check out the auction from depeche23mode on eBay.
