Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX ‘Notchback’

Vans Vault Sk8 Hi LX Notchback

It’s been nearly three years since Jason Jessee unleashed his Vans Syndicate collaboration on the world, and his didn’t hit with the same attention as standout collabos like Supreme’s, that 2009 heel-notched design is indeed having a lasting impact.  An in-house effort this time, the Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX ‘Notchback’ returns after an early ’12 resurrection, three new suede drops looking like a Quckstrike duo of VNTG Blazer Highs from ’10 if Nike Sportswear’s earlier release’s Blue Grey colorup had been separated into its constituent parts.  Check out this entire trio below and stick with Sneaker News to see when they arrive on store shelves.  via FNG

HUF Summer 2012 Footwear

HUF Summer 2012 Footwear

HUF has been relatively quiet since their ‘glass sculpture’ collabo with Skate Mental made waves on April 20th, but that’s not just because they’ve been chilling, eating junk food for two weeks.  To the contrary, Keith Hufnagel’s namesake label has prepared a summer 2012 collection that’s their largest footwear spread to date, clear evidence that the move away from vertical integration and toward wider distribution is indeed paying off.  Check out new colorways on familiar styles like the HUF Hupper, Choice and HUF 1, along with newer silos like the 1984, Mateo and Morton and grab yours from the HUF online store.

Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX Zip – Blue

Vans Vault Sk8 Hi LX Zip Blue

Vans has been applying zippers to their classic skate silhouettes as far back as 2008′s Jun Watanabe collaboration, and with this year bringing medial zip enclosures to the forefront, it’s time for another round.  But with most other brands opting for that ‘inner zipper’ look, Paul Van Doren’s company has gone ‘Off the Wall’ and sent their zippers to the heel.  We saw it first on the mastermind JAPAN collabo and now the Vans Vault Sk8-Hi Zip stands poised to provide this look for the skaters who couldn’t get a hold of that limited collab.  This tonal blue pair looks superb with suede atop grainy leather, and an earthy Missoni-leaning striped sockliner adds a final premium touch.  Check out these and more details (sick hangtags) after the jump and look for these starting May 12th at Vans Vault stockists like the Ohio State Buckeyes’ favorite boutique, Columbus’ Sole Classics.

Nike SB Eric Koston Heritage

Nike SB Eric Koston Heritage

You know that Air Max 90-infused Eric Koston signature we’ve been seeing with the big X’d out name?  Well, don’t worry about losing out on the AM90 flavor because that’s still totally intact, but you can also let your mind relax a bit with the far more convenient name, Nike SB Eric Koston Heritage.  The name accomplishes two primary tasks: fitting more readily on a box label, and ensuring that the box of which we speak is one with ‘SB’ branding (remember that Koston’s sig was the first depicted alongside the new SB/6.0 packaging).  This almost Air Max 95-like colorway joins the ‘Infrared’ edition we previewed last week; might we luck out and get a ‘Laser Blue’ or another beloved colorup as well?  Click through for more, let us know which one looks better so far and stick with Sneaker News for Eric Koston Heritage SB release info.  Photos: Dom DeLuca

Silas x Slam City Skates x Vans Era

Silas x Slam City Skates x Vans Era

When Japanese fashion label Silas (and Maria) collaborates with Vans, we know their name is going to take center stage; the question is: how will it be implemented?  We’ve seen a bold ‘SILAS’ print back in 2009 done in a colorway that would kill it this spring, last year’s embroidery-heavy Mark Foster collabo and now this new Vans Era in conjunction with London’s Slam City Skates.  These feature a black suede toe for serious skate performance, but your eye will naturally fall upon the camouflage canvas mid panels and blaze orange hits on the eyelets and heel tab.  Silas branding is hidden in the camo and apparent on the outer heels and insole, where a flaming Slam City skull reminds us which store got in as the third leg of this terrific trio.  And make that a quartet, courtesy of a Silas-branded Nalgene polycarbonate bottle, the kind of thing that can handle any gap you can clear and raise you by another few stories.  A subtly rugged set from a Japanese mainstay, the Silas x Slam City Eras will arrive at select retailers in July.  via EK

Stussy x Converse Sea Star + Elm LS

Stussy x Converse Sea Star + Elm LS

It’s hard to come up with a better canvas for a sneaker collaboration (and a fairly low key one, at that) than a couple of silhouettes with the most minimal of branding.  And that’s exactly what Stussy has chosen in the Converse Sea Star, a design that strongly resembles the CONS Skate version, but whose unique camo ripstop colorway juxtaposing a black version with luxurious caramel accents is unlike those we’ve seen to this point.  And the same goes with Stussy’s Elm LS, a recent introduction to Converse’s skateboarding lineup that drops its embossed side panel Star and Chevron for a stamp featuring one of the most famous signatures in streetwear.  Click through to see how all three incorporate a camo footbed and look for yours arriving now at top Converse stockists like Premier.

Vans Sk8-Hi Suede ‘Honey Mustard’

Vans Sk8 Hi Suede Honey Mustard

Off the Wall’s latest drop is one of a pack of three, a trio that combines one of the most iconic skate silhouettes ever produced with skateboarding sneakers’ favorite traditional material.  The Vans Sk8-Hi is pictured above in a Honey Mustard and black suede combo with white accents for a look you might see as half bumblebee, half hungry bear.  This ‘Suede Pack’ design is earthier and more versatile than your average black and yellow sneaker, but the high contrast style will still turn heads when you grab them from Vans retailers like Primitive.

Nike P-Rod 6 GS

Nike P Rod 6 GS

Although Tony Hawk is probably the closest thing skateboarding has to a Michael Jordan-like figure, there’s no arguing that Paul Rodriguez has quite a bit in common with His Airness. Aside from those FTLOTG P-Rod IVs in Carolina blue, the connections include dominating a sport from an early age, both directly and with regard to marketing. And while P-Rod’s signature line isn’t the full-blown subsidiary Jordan Brand represents, Rodriguez’ kicks and gear have indeed grown beyond the Nike SB division that birthed them. Accordingly, this new Nike P-Rod 6 GS comes without ‘SB’ branding and will be available at a bunch more stores, including Burner, who’ll have this Elephant print-Swooshed pair in stock come July.

Vans Era ‘Neoprene’

Vans Era Neoprene

Vans’ Surf division has been established for a while now, but Off the Wall has still somehow managed to avoid the wetsuit theme for a sneaker design.  And while this new pair isn’t overtly surf-y, in the sense that you might not recognize their construction from across the street, these Vans Era ’Neoprene’ lowtops are indeed entirely cast in the material best known for its ocean applications.  The black and Scuba Blue colorway is the represents an understated energy we’ve seen from a variety of soft blue-accented designs this season, and you’ll find these available at select retailers like Concepts.
