Spot the QR Codes with Soleheaven & the Trainer Angel
Soleheaven QR codes are popping up in the UK, find and scan them to get exclusive images… Dale tells us more…
“They appear to be the work of a sneaker obsessed character known only as the ‘Trainer Angel’.
City skate parks and popular bars on the arts and music scene appear to have been visited
overnight by the Trainer Angel. The installations are numbered and each location has a shoe
positioned in impossible high up locations as a physical signature. The sneakers that have so far
been spotted range from Nike Air Max, Supra, Asics and ltd edition Vans.
Close to each location is a giant sized paste up that wouldn’t look out of place on the streets
of Paris or Barcelona. The design is a bold industrial graphic design with strong lines, featuring
between the wings of the body a giant digital QR code.
Scan the QR code with your mobile phone and you’re taken through to the home of the Trainer
Angel where you can view exclusive images and connect with the Trainer Angel directly using
social media.

Dale Parr, of Soleheaven says: “We worked last year on an exhibition with 20 artists including Dan
Baldwin, INSA and Mr Jago in an exhibition in Shoreditch. Called Kicks N Canvas. I wanted to do
something this year that was a little closer to home and directly related to the business.”
So sneaker-heads, keep your eyes peeled…

UK-based label Garbstore gave us a first look at their collaborative K-Swiss sneaker at (capsule) Las Vegas. Based on a Swiss Military sneaker, the shoe is a pared-down archival K-Swiss style done in a mix of canvas and leather with a ton of amazing little details – something Garbstore does very, very well. For example, the rubber toe seen above was completely reworked. To top things off, the sneakers will come packaged in a tin box. Nice one.

PF Flyers gets together with Japanese retailer Beams Plus to collaborate on a canvas high top sneaker. The sneaker comes in off-white/black and in black/black, featuring no color on the upper, except for the heel logo placement. We really like the off-white colorway with its contrasting toe cap and mid-sole. The sneakers will be released at
We take a look at two upcoming New Balance 576’s from their Spring 2011 Collection. ‘Made in England’, both sneaker comes in with solid suede uppers and contrasting white leather details. We like the soft colors and clean suede uppers on the running shoe. Look out for these in the coming weeks.

Last night PUMA and Undefeated officially launched their new collaborative Clyde project, aimed at breathing fresh life into the storied sneaker. The first shoe to release from the co-branded line is a premium leather style. Undefeated made several changes to the original look, removing the side and rear PUMA logos and adding embossed UNDFTD logos to the tongue and the insole, as well as moving and altering the “Clyde” text. They actually improved on the fit as well, and believe it or not the project will be on-going for several years. These first styles will release April 10th – the 10 signifying Clyde’s jersey number.
Last night Puma and Undefeated celebrated their Game Time: The Next Chapter Of Clyde Event at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. Next to a N.E.R.D. performance and DJ Jus Ske spinning the decks, a full Puma Clyde exhibition was set up, showcasing some of the most exciting collaborations on this iconic silhouette over the years. Furthermore the new Undefeated collaboration Clydes were of course also on display, as you can see here above in the hands of Eddie Cruz. The LA based stores kept it simple, offering the low top in two premium leather versions with embossed Undefeated Strike logo tag on the tongue.
