In an interesting new collaboration, the French brands L.G.R. and A.P.C. have teamed up on a new pair of unisex sunglasses. The frames are all handmade in Italy, using cellulose acetate. Look out for these in stores from May 10th, 2012.

Everybody’s favorite retro Jordan colorway is back in the form of sunglasses by 9Five Eyewear. This limited release, dubbed the ‘2Three’ is a leather wrapped frame with elephant print temples and fire red inners. The shades also come packaged in a miniature shoe box. Following up their previous collaborations, Los Angeles eyewear manufacturer Oliver Peoples and TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSololst. have teamed up once again for a set of eyewear. Designed by Takahiro Miyashita of Japan, the collection features a pair of optical frames and a pair of sunglasses. Boasting a range of colors, each pair exudes a vintage aesthetic and is made up of metal eyewire alongside plastic or acetate top bars and temples. Attainable exclusively in the Asian market and through Oliver Peoples Boutiques, the classic optical frames and teardrop aviator sunglasses of the TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSololst. x Oliver Peoples 2012 Capsule Collection are now available for €350 EUR (approximately $460 USD) and €425 EUR (approximately $559 USD) respectively.
SUPER sunglasses pioneered the colorful acetate frame nearly five years ago earning worldwide recognition for their innovative ethos. Today, the Italian eyewear manufacturer launches a new series titled Visiva – Italian for Visual – presenting a range of seasonal sunglasses adorned with unique prints. The first mini collection releasing from the Visiva series provides two offerings under the name “Poissons” and will feature quirky fish graphics on the inside of both frames. Each sporting a smooth tobacco lens, the first pair of shades, the America, presents a boxy frame in dark havana, and the second pair, the Palona, comes complete with amber colored oval frames. The “Poissons” collection is currently available here, with both pieces releasing for €150 EUR (approximately $195 USD).
As we inch towards the Spring/Summer 2012 season SUPER introduces the Poisson series made up of a couple of pairs of sunglasses to help prep the mood for the sunny days ahead. Two different styles, the Paloma and America, both have classical styling, with each being fitted with tobacco colored lenses. The packaging is also cool as it features a fish print matching with the interior of the arms of the frames. Both are available for purchase now at SUPER.

French eyewear designer Alain Mikli continues to establish a strong presence within the Asian market with its latest collaborative project for an early-2012 release. Building upon the past projects with Hong Kong’s Subcrew, the latest venture sees the inclusion of Jay Chou’s retail store PHANTACi to release a new style of sunglasses, brand the “MR. SAY.” Combining the label’s likeminded mentalities, the result is a minimalist pair of black-framed sunglasses that reflect the understated style preferences of the label’s founders. Retailing for $1,540 HKD (approx. $198 USD), these sunglasses will hit shelves beginning January 21st at select retailers.

For their 5th collaboration with Barneys NYC, SUPER created a pair of sunglasses in slick crystal acetate. The look is “clean and translucent so you can see and appreciate the frame and finesse of the skeleton within in its meticulous detail. The crystal is teamed with another rudimentary SUPER favorite: solid matte metal, keeping things essential.” Available now at SUPER and in Barneys COOP stores.
