Supra Owen – May 2012 Colorways

Supra Owen May 2012 Colorways

The Supra Owen is the Crown brand’s first running sneaker, a departure for this brand that’d heretofore focused its energies on the skateboarding scene.  It’s a risk that’s paying dividends as sneakerheads and casual buyers alike come to recognize the potential for lightweight and breezy summer comfort coming from this ‘unlikely’ source at a wholly reasonable price point.  The Owen is back for summer with two new colorways, one a ‘Sport Blue’-inspired answer to March’s OG Air Max 1-inspired release, the other closer to the kinds of styles we saw in 2010′s Air Attack Pack thanks to the subtle use of purple accents on an otherwise black base.  Check out both in greater detail below, then grab yours straight from Supra.

Supra Pilot ‘Utility’

Supra Pilot Utility

Plenty of sneaker brands have tried workwear or otherwise blue collar-leaning colorways over the past couple years, and even though that connection is referenced in the Supra Pilot ’Utility’ nickname, the design (and previous explicit ‘Workwear’ drops from the Crown brand) require that we think another layer deeper to make sense of what’s going on here.  At first glance, this is just a tonal black shoe with a white sole, but a closer look reveals that a combination of rugged cotton twill and soft microfiber are not only providing depth of color.  There’s also a statement here on the kinds of materials that were once geared toward the average American workday (denim for hard labor) as compared to today’s decidedly more white-collar population (microfiber to clean your LCD or smartphone display).  Supra has subtly packed in a satisfyingly thoughtful theme into this unassuming hightop skate shoe, and you’ll find them available now directly from the source.

Supra Skylow 2 ‘Vintage’

Supra Skylow 2 Vintage

When will Supra bring out the seemingly inevitable Skylow 3?  We’ve seen lowtop versions for each of Chad Muska’s first two Crown brand signatures, but given that the second one just arrived a couple months back, we’ll probably be waiting on the 3s for a good while.  Good news, then, that a new Supra Skylow 2 has just released, and even better once you take a look at the unique color scheme and material combination in use on this ‘Vintage’ Skylow 2.  These hearken back to a simpler time in sneaker design with their tonal blue mix of canvas and an extra nappy suede, while select citrus accents push this ocean blue look toward a tropical finish.  Check them out in greater detail below, then grab yours straight from Supra.

Supra Pilot ‘Native’

Supra Pilot Native

Supra has been giving nicknames to everything that’s come down their pike for the past year or so, but here’s a case where the moniker denotes more than just a vague concept or color scheme.  The Supra Pilot ’Native’ comes with an Atlanta Braves-like two-toned upper that’s made up of their new super-smooth Lux suede.  This material appears even less nappy than nubuck for an almost waxy appearance, while a woven texture on the white vulc sole beneath furthers the connection to the indigenous theme.  Check these out up close below, let us know how Lux suede compares to the various TUF textures and cop your ‘Native’ Pilots straight from Supra.

Supra Society Mid – April 2012 Colorways

Supra Society Mid April 2012 Colorways

Supra released just as many new colorways after its ‘spring 2012′ collection of Society Mids dropped in February, so should we take this new drop to mean that four additional pairs will soon follow?  The Supra Society Mid is getting ready for summer with a quartet of new colorups that are all equally simple thanks to two-toned palettes.  The grey/neon pair also known as the ‘Fresh’ Society Mid might be the most timely of the bunch, but it’s hard to knock the ‘Dunkman’-like appeal of the ‘Jade’ edition, or the timeless color/white combo exhibited on both the ‘Scuba’ and ‘Majestic’ drops.  Check out all four after the jump, then head over to Supra and buy yours straight from the source.
