Les (Art)ists Spring 2013 T-Shirt Collection featuring Kaws, Murakami, Hirst & Others

Les (Art)ists Spring 2013 T Shirt Collection featuring Kaws, Murakami, Hirst & Others

French t-shirt brand Les (Art)ists is back for Spring 2013. Their design formula is rather simple – a sports style graphic tee with the name of the artist on the back along with the person’s birth year. After having released last year a big collection featuring artists, musicians and fashion designers, the new Spring 2013 Collection is a little more focused. They present an artist only range and introduce some more color into the collection, playing with color and graphic elements that pay tribute to the style of the individual artist featured on the respective t-shirt. The collection includes Kaws, Takashi Murakami, Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring and is now entirely available at colette.

Takashi Murakami Portrait Series

Takashi Murakami Portrait Series

While walking the Art Basel Miami Beach 2012, we came across this portrait series by Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami at the Galerie Perrotin booth. Using his signature flower pattern and adding a portrait to it, the samples show the artist himself, as well as fellow artist Kaws with his giant 4 Foot Companion sculpture.

The interesting thing about these pieces is, that not only was Murakami always interested in portraits, he offers anybody to commission such a piece from him. You can order your very own Takashi Murakami portrait if you wanted to, which is a pretty interesting treat.

Check out some of the portraits that he has already worked on in the above gallery.

Pharrell Williams Lists Bachelor Pad In Miami For $16.8 Million Dollars

Pharrell Williams Lists Bachelor Pad In Miami For $16.8 Million Dollars

Is Pharrell Williams giving up his “Kidult” lifestyle? Not quite just yet. But the recently engaged musical megastar is giving up his bachelor pad in Miami for the price of $16.8 million dollars. Brought directly from the developer in 2007 for around $12.5 million, Pharrell spent several more on furnishing afterwards. This includes commissioned art works by Takashi Murakami and KAWS, who created giant portraits of “Family Guy” characters. The space was also the subject on countless fashion, design, and music media, including the famous The Selby is in Your Place photo blog by Todd Selby.

Situated within Bristol Tower just south of Downtown Miami, the five bedrooms, six baths apartment is in effect an enclosed triplex with three levels. Topped with the finest granite, marble, and wood, a 360-degree wall of glass and a wrapped around balcony offer breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. In addition, the 9000-square-foot space offers numerous amenities, like a private pool on one of the balconies. For interested parties, please contact The Jills real estate agency for more details

032c Workshop – Supreme Exhibition Recap

032c Workshop Supreme Exhibition RecapWe do not need to go into detail on the impact Supreme had on our culture, and one of the key aspects for the brand is their series of skateboard decks; designed by high profile creatives from around the world including KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Larry Clark, Rammellzee, Peter Saville, Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, Damien Hirst, and more. The decks are a testament of their never-ending progression, and this exhibition documents their achievements over the years. 032c Workshop in Berlin paid homage to the Supreme skateboard decks by curating an exhibition. Carefully displayed in the gallery space is the complete set of boards from its inception up until present. It is a rare occasion that all of these items can be seen under one roof.
