Lupe Fiasco has been under the radar for the past few years but he came back with the announcement of Food and Liquor 2, which would be a continuation to his first album that released in 2006. Not only are fans looking forward to the 2 disk FNL 2 album, but they can also anticipate an upcoming collaboration with Vans. Just over three years ago, Vans issued three of its classic vulc-soled skate models in watermelon-themed designs for ladies.  And though Off the Wall isn’t really in the business of issuing retros, the watermelon did indeed return last summer along with cheeseburger and sprinkles-inspired pairs.  And while hotdog, lemonade and other summertime flavors sit on the shelves, the ever popular watermelon motif returns on the Vans Authentic.  The iconic skate plimsoll looks just as delicious as we remembered and is available at Vans retailers in Singapore as we speak; would you buy a pair if they hit US store shelves?  via ST

Vans Vault Sk8 Hi LX Notchback

It’s been nearly three years since Jason Jessee unleashed his Vans Syndicate collaboration on the world, and his didn’t hit with the same attention as standout collabos like Supreme’s, that 2009 heel-notched design is indeed having a lasting impact.  An in-house effort this time, the Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX ‘Notchback’ returns after an early ’12 resurrection, three new suede drops looking like a Quckstrike duo of VNTG Blazer Highs from ’10 if Nike Sportswear’s earlier release’s Blue Grey colorup had been separated into its constituent parts.  Check out this entire trio below and stick with Sneaker News to see when they arrive on store shelves.  via FNG

2009′s Vans ‘Watermelon’ Pack wasn’t enough to satisfy fans of the concept, therefore Vans has reissued the pack once again. Consisting of the Vans Authentic and Slip on, the Watermelon pack delivers both models decked out in seed and melon print, finished with a green outsole. The Vans Watermelon Pack enjoys a reissue, in the run up to the sunnier months. Juicy exotic fruits are enjoyed best during hot weather, so why not? Originally released in 2009, this capsules consists of a Vans Era and Slip-On sneaker, and are made out of a red with black dots upper that sits on a white and green sole. It’s quite representative of the fruit that we’re all partial too. They’re out for a limited time only and are available from the Vans store at Orchard Central Level 1.

From the Vans Vault Spring 2012 Collection we present the Sk8 Hi LX ‘Notchback’. Compared to the original design of the sneaker that originally released in 1978, the design from the Vans Vault Collection comes with a small difference on the upper part of the heel. Otherwise they stick to the classic design of the sneaker. It comes in three very solid suede versions and they all release June 2012.

With the rapid decline of art programs being offered in inner city public schools, New York native and visual artist Danny Simmons stepped up to help fill that rapidly widening void. In this installment of Pass the Bucket from Vans Off the Wall, we get a glimpse at the roots of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation that was created through Simmons’ efforts, and his two brothers, Russell and Joseph (Rev. Run of RUN-DMC). The foundation lives to provide the urban poor and underprivileged with opportunities to access the arts and exhibit their own work.
