The second installemnt of, WeActivist Arto Saari: A Modern Retrospect!, was uploaded by WeSC just the other day. Additionally, in this episode, the two skateboarders engage in a conversation about Saari’s love for photography, and its development coinciding with his professional skateboarding career. Watch the full four-minute video interview in by pressing play on the embed underneath.
Those in the skateboarding circles would no doubt know the legendary status of Finnish-born professional skateboarder, Arto Saari. He leaped onto the European skateboard scene in 1998 at an international skateboarding competition in Munster, Germany, largest skateboarding competition at the time, blowing minds of fellow skateboarders and attendees. Saari moved to the Stateside to pursuit his skateboarding career, joining the ranks of fellow European skateboard company, Flip. In this video by WeSC, Chris Pastras, sits down with Saari for a casual conversation to hear about the beginning of his skateboard life. Check out the first installment below.
Inside the WeSC Paris Concept Store on Rue Tiquetonne, they have dedicated a corner of the retail space to carry skateboard products and related merchandise. The talented London-based illustrator and artist, Mode2, had the honors of painting on the back wall of the store, welcoming visitors with a large monochromatic illustration. By no means, is this a huge skateboard shop; however, it looks to be a cozy spot to pick up some hardware when needed. Check out the video recap of the preparation of the new corner and opening event by scrolling down the page.

Drawing on some familiarities from a by-gone era, Swedish clothing label We are the Superlative Conspiracy, or WeSC for short, recently commissioned the one-and-only Ricky Powell for an impromptu lookbook for its Spring 2013 Denim Collection. Shot on and around the famed Minetta Street in New York City’s West Village neighborhood, Powell recreated some of his most memorable images (albeit unintentionally) during the heyday of hip-hop with help from WeActivist/model Kim Matulova. Featuring WeSC’s most popular denim models, including Eddy, Bob, Kelvin, Lizzy, and Mandy, all of which are available now through WeSC retail locations across 24 countries worldwide.
