Tokyo rapper S-Word has teamed up with Japanese brand Whiz and The New Era EK Collection. Together the trio worked on a limited edition version of “The EK Gatsby” hat. Aside from a special lining, several metal details have been added to the upper of the hat.
The hat is now available in the New Era Japan online store.

The final chapter in Christopher Nolan’s epic Batman trilogy just landed in Japanese theaters this past weekend. And to celebrate, Japanese online retailer ZOZOTOWN has put together a collection of limited edition Dark Knight themed softgoods featuring T-shirts, hoodies, and caps, in addition to several soon-to-be rare co-branded shirts with STUSSY, HECTIC, Bounty Hunter, whiz and Masterpiece among others. THE SESSION TOKYO is a 3-day pop-up store in the ultra trendy Harajuku part of Tokyo. Celebrating the Ura-Hara (meaning: back streets of Harajuku) design movement and its pioneers, the pop-up store will showcase mainly Ura-Hara brands started by designers born between 1975 and 1976–including WHIZ Limited, NEXUSVII, mita sneakers, bal and WASTE(TWICE). THE SESSION TOKYO will also feature unique custom collaboration products that were created especially for the event, including hand-customed levi’s, pre-released adidas Original for MITA sneakers / CP 80s MITA, ROD LAVER VIN MITA, exclusive private collections, and special VLACK COFFEE by NEXUSVII. This event will take place at the Gallery Common in Harajuku from April 28 to April 30 (11am – 8pm).

Whiz, mita sneakers and New Balance have certainly come up with one of the most interesting shoe releases of this year with these 1700s that are dropping this weekend. We like the use of red, white and blue on these. The leather looks great, but what really steals the show is the perforated star pattern round on the toe box and heel area. The stars actually glow in the dark, too! It appears that these will be released in store only at mita.

Japanese streetwear concern WHIZ LIMITED is a brand many US sneakerheads wouldn’t even know were it not for their New Balance collaborations, and after Whiz’ second NBs drop later this month, they’ll forever linked with star cutouts. The WHIZ x mita x New Balance CM1700 will release at select AP retailers this Saturday, April 28th, but thanks to the glow-in-the-dark underlay that makes those cutouts into a reflection of the night sky, these are sure to have NB heads on this side of the planet jockeying for position on one of the few inevitable imports. We get a first look at the upcoming collaboration between Japanese brand Whiz, mita sneakers and New Balance. They decided to work on the 1700 running shoe. Featuring a classic tricolor upper, premium materials have been used throughout the entire sneaker. Embossed stars on the toe box and the use of 3M are only a few of the special treatments applied to this collaborative release. (Via Cooltrans)

The WHIZ LIMITED x mita sneakers New Balance CM1700 sneaker is set to launch at the end of April exclusively at mita sneakers and the Lump Tokyo store and will retail for ¥17,850 JPY (approximately $217 USD).
